This is UNBELIEVABLE. HOTD was my first Cure album, and so IBD was the first Cure song I ever heard - and then eventually the first Cure video I ever saw was this one, and I was hooked beyond belief. I thought the video was Out of this World - Cure pun intended. The making of this video lends such fascinating insight into one of the most intriguing Cure videos. I love all the Tim Pope Cure videos, but this one is FIRE.

I thought I’d seen all Cure footage. Great find! Funny hearing Tim’s ideas being questioned before knowing that this, and other Cure vids of his are iconic.

Incredible to see this BTS. The In Between Days video is iconic, it's a classic. Hard to find online, but when you see it, feels as fresh as ever.

Pearl has always been my favorite from the Cure
For Porl/Pearl to manage to be relaxed enough to move with Tim’s camera manipulation, while also maintaining an exceedingly successful job of playing/miming the guitar for this particularly fast paced song….he is a guitar God. I’m a musician and this would have been huge fun, but so, so difficult!
Quick edit - my hubs is a media and music college lecturer and because I incessantly refer to the Cure for…any reason I can think of at the time…he used the Inbetween Days video as an example to students of how effects could be achieved with lower tech equipment. I asked him, you know about the whole day-glo sock thing, right? You know where Tim Pope first used that effect? Queue baffled look. I told him - he did a similar thing for a video with Strawberry Switchblade years before. Ahhhh…when you know way too much about your favourite bands, and even the teachers won’t listen 😂😂😂

So awesome to see and hear the process explained by Tim Pope, and of course all The Cure members at that time! Sadly, here in the U.S. we cannot see most of their music videos 😞. If anyone knows where or how we can access I would sure like to know. Thank you for posting this wonderful documentary! 🤩👏👏
