      This is just superb, been searching for "counting cards odds of winning" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you ever come across - Tonvelyn Xiylijah Trick - (should be on google have a look )? It is a good exclusive product for learning how to make fast money using this lotto system without the hard work. Ive heard some interesting things about it and my friend Sam at very last got excellent success with it.

    Thanks Pete, Great advice as always. Each week I am beginning to build on that overall sense of what is in the other hands and my memory of hands played is becoming much greater. In the past I never understood how people could remember so much in such specific detail but now it is happening to me it is improving my game immensely. At the same time though having so many things in my head at once is also distracting and is causing me to make mistakes I would not otherwise make. I expect as I get used to it over time the mistakes will get less and the extra tricks will start rolling in. You might not get a lot of feedback but what you are doing here is really terrific. Thanks G.

    Thanks for a great video articulating these memory tips so clearly. I am working hard on all of this and suggest one more.
    #6) At the end of the hand, summarize the result as tricks won (NT) or tricks lost (suit) in each suit. When there is a dispute over the count, I always admire people who can quickly state that summary.

    11:03 From remembering tricks & phone no.’s to memorising phone calls! Impressive - would that be every word spoken (awe-inspiring to , both numbers, or both/all/‘something else entirely? I jest ofc. Great info as always, thanks Pete.

    Michaels. If you have opening count which 5 card suit do you bid first?

    • @BridgeWithPete
      @BridgeWithPete  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The higher ranking one first. I.e. Spades first if you have that suit.

    This is great stuff and so important. The problem I find is that when you are playing a real match then emotions take over. Suddenly you are afraid of going down and it really messes up your counting. It pays to stay cool and count even if you are in a bad contract. Emotions are a killer have you noticed bad score come together that's probably because you are still moaning about your bad luck on the previous hand.

    Really helpful stuff, thanks. I've been struggling with this sort of thing a lot recently, because it is clear to me that it would really help my game if I count hands better, but I am finding it hard to improve at it. So it's really useful to hear some tips on the subject.

    How did you figure that North did not have the King of Spade?

    • @steventurner1350
      @steventurner1350 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Because on defense you should win a trick with the “lowest of touching” cards. This helps your partner (Peter in this case) figure out what’s going on. In this example, if partner had AK(xxx) he should win the trick with the K. Instead he won with the A. Therefore he doesn’t have the K (assuming he’s a reliable partner).

    I have great difficulty in remembering the cards when the hand involves lots of cross-ruff. I always lose track of the cards and ends up ruffing my winners.

    • @endthisnonsense7202

      Planning for a cross ruff cash as many winners as possible before starting ruffing in both handas, be carefull not to let opps ruff and switch trumps. That is sound advise and will prevent your issue.

    I like how you can benefit from guessing wrong! At least you remember what the mistake was!

    Rude players make memory harder. It's takes some extra brain work to keep track of the while people are verbally abusing you i.e. helping you. Generally I just stop playing and wait til they shut up.... And I tell them I will not play till they are finished rudely interrupting and distract me.. I consider it cheating besides, equal to being noisy when a pool player or a golfer it about to make their shot, or swing. Cheating, and invasive, and intrusive, and rude...

    In 2nd hand a little misplayed caused of lack of memory i think, in spades u have only one losing trick because T and Q goes out. So playing a spade gives u a trick in spade. If they want they can you give a chance to guess a club for 1 trick more or give you +1 without guessing. Or this can be because of not focusing on particular subject. I know talking and playing is pretty hard ;)

    For tgwnn: 1. stop drinking. 2. look at the cards. 3. LOOK AT THE CARDS. 4. stop thinking of punny comments, look at the cards. 5. coffee doesn't hurt.
    Now I'll watch the video and compare.

      Also it's easy to forget for me that both E and W have 13 cards. Sounds a bit stupid but what I mean is, if I know how 3 suits break, the fourth suit is known :) So if 3 suits broke 4-2 (W having 4 and E having 2), then the fourth suit must break 1-7. Of course this is a very stupid example but often I end up playing W to have started with a 4444 distribution, say.
