I run in a fasted state as well. I highly recommend it

It seems counterintuitive until you think about it too much. If I eat before or during a run, I'll be more apt to bonk out rather than fasted. I think it's because my body can't switch the fuel source fast enough. But running fasted means that a fuel source swap never has to take place and I always have plenty of body fat to fuel my runs. And that can always be replenished later.

I run on a 20 hour fast. 3 miles a day. Love it!

are you lean, I might try this.
are you finished for the day after exercising like that? I'm shaper cognitively when fasting but suspect that running while fasting will cause a sort of brain fog or laziness. To what extent does this occur in your experience?

I run 13k daily on an empty stomach in the mornings. Only after 30kms do i introduce snacks like oreos and clif bars to nibble on as i run.

in my case that 2% improvement in performance is overshadowed mostly by a bloated stomach and the banana and oat taste during the high intensity effort :)

I like to eat before runs for the reason he stated, trying to catch up on the calorie requirements later is difficult in its self

You’re not burning nearly as many calories as you think, you can definitely make up the 500-1000 calories

Eating 2-3 hours before working out works great for me.

Whenever I run on 24 hr fast, I have rare focus that doesn't come in a fed state. 💜

Also if you just run longer and harder u will burn everything in ur body and warm down will be fasted.

Name a long distance runner that doesn’t . The the curve of fitness, you can go to far and it have negative effects later in life. If your a pro like this guy it’s a weigh up between body damage and career . Like a carpet layer who’s knees give out in their 50s.
