One thing people can do to get some extra quartz is to sign up for the premium monthly pass. They give you one free trial month so that's what I did for the month of December. Zero cost. They want to get you hooked into paying monthly after that, but it is a nice thing to offer as a trial with no obligation to pay after that. I pretty much completed all the missions within two weeks except for the login missions where you have to login X days during the month (will complete those just by logging in every day this month).
