- Sequels are everywhere now. Even Enchanted got a sequel! We check out Disenchanted and see whether it lives up to the original.
Disenchanted stars Amy Adams, Patrick Dempsey, Maya Rudolph, James Marsden, Idina Menzel, Jayma Mays, Yvette Nicole Brown and Gabriella Baldacchino. The movie takes place fifteen years after the events of Enchanted, with Giselle questioning her happiness and inadvertently turning the lives of those in the real world and Andalasia upside down in the process.

What I liked about this movie is that it's colorful and vibrant like its original unlike other remakes by Disney where they make it too dark and too serious. I'd give it 8/10. Not a masterpiece as the original but still it was fun and enjoyable.

I love how this movie is literally the opposite of the first one. in Enchanted she was sent from a fairytale life into reality, and in this one, she wanted a fairytale life transferred into the reality. the two movies are very different from each other but revolves around the same concept
I think the first one was so iconic it could never be topped and the people who made this know it. More than a movie, it felt like a tribute to the first movie and seeing it like that it was really good and touching. It really shows that everyone was having so much fun and it was something they really wanted to do after such a long time, you can even see in the credits amy adams is the producer of the movie so clearly she always wanted to return to this world.

Damnnnn, if Idina Menzel knows anything, it is how to crush a musical number. Her voice is a literal cannon and I'm so glad she landed a solo in this film.
Love the Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde reference in this movie too. Its cool how once the clock strikes on every hour you see Giselle's eyes changing yellow and speaking like Julie Andrews. It's such a darker spin on the original one.

12:25 when the giselle said what's tonight the girl said for the festival that was the original actress who played morgan in 2007 enchanted and im still grateful she could have a cameo in the sequel and if you wanna know why she stop acting sometimes becasue shes is a writer and composer

If either of you are familiar with Disney’s direct to DVD follow ups to their classics in the mid 2000s, like Mulan 2, Simba’s Pride and Kronk’s New Groove, I’d say this is Enchanted’s equivalent. Still fun but obviously limited by its small screen aspirations.
did Koby *not* watch the first movie? I mean Giselle didn't give birth to Morgan.. so that means Giselle is her step-mother. Well since the baby can't even talk yet..so that at least Giselle can use it in the mean time.

Achara just got all teary here. And now I really think they really need to react to Ryan Reynold's Spirited. I think Jaby will really like it.
I was really surprised how Amy Adams was so good at being an evil queen.
Gabby's dream of playing as a Disney princess has came true.
What happens after "ever after" is that we must just enjoy the gift that is the present. I think the ending made sense to it. Enjoy every moment and just live in it :))

I really love how that scroll reminds me of that little pop up that used to be there MS Word way back when..
I think the movie was great but would hve been better with a bit less musical and a plot more focus. My fave part of the movie is the begining cause I really like the concept of Gisele becoming bad cause she is a stepmom, and I think if the movie focused on that and not on that battle between Gisele and the queen (I wish this part wasn't there at all), the movie could have been as great as the first one. It's still a fun movie, but could have been better.
Also I thought it was funny to see how they made up for not giving songs to Idina Menzel in the fisrt movie by giving her the most important song in the movie.
Great react you two! Loved the bit where Achara teared up, so perfect! It was a good movie, not spectacular
but good none-the-less. Keep up the great work you two and please stay safe!

Awesome reaction to an awesome movie! I was having a bad day and this made it a little better! Everyone talks about Wicked!Gizelle, but I see no one talking about pre and during Wicked! Pip! I found him more hilarious in this one than I did in the first and I think it's because the actor was allowed to talk without it pitched up.
I really like it overall... Maybe slightly over the top in spots and a little long. I liked that it tugged on the heartstrings a little. I loved some of the ridiculous stuff that was supposed to be enjoyed. Not quite the original, but I could watch it again (I don’t feel the same about Hocus Pocus 2)...
This one had more emotions than the first one too...

By far, this is the best Disney movie that came out so far
yeah i felt the first one didn't have enough musicals(even though i think it just needed 1 or 2 more) and this one was just filled with musicals. i felt like they stalled too much but the stalls done nothing for the story and then rushed the important parts . i loved it though im such a sucker for family related stories

The things you say are fair .. I still loved it. I remember many months ago reading of test screenings and some reworking to be done on the movie. Perhaps some bits were cut for run time that related to more real world back story issues, I think there was probably more real life problems and issues leading into her wish.. perhaps they thought it took too much time to get to the fun stuff.

Encanto music was really not catchy, it was downright dreadful music! I agree with Moana, the music in Moana is very catchy.

I agree with a lot of your criticisms:
1) "Happy Working Song" was probably the least catchiest song from the first movie, and it was still catchier than every song in this movie. I'm surprised Alan Menken and Stephen Schwartz went in the "pure musical exposition" direction instead of adding the ear worm so classic to Disney.
2) They tried to do and fit in so much that there's barely any time for the characters to breathe after the wish. Robert's plot was filler. Nancy and Edward were plot devices. Morgan's plot with the boy was hollow. The Evilest queen plot was entertaining but took away from the development Morgan and Giselle's strained relationship, which was the heart of the movie. The pacing and characters development suffered because it tried to cram in so much.
3) I also agree with having Morgan and Robert "reset" with the wish also wasted development and emotional stakes just to play with the tropes and cliches. It would have been better if it was a more gradual transition with them reacting to everything turning magic.
With that being said, I still loved the movie and cried a few times. It was a joy to be on a ride with these beloved characters again, especially Amy Adams as Giselle.
