But now I’m finally be getting my own place going to start college next year to have a better career for my daughter I felt like this song definitely helped me realize. Me getting pregnant and having my baby. Is to wake me up and never rely on nobody just focus on myself and my baby. So we can have the life we supposed too ❤
I'll never forget how I discovered Godsmack! I was 40; my daughter 15. She was playing MTV and this video came on just as I headed upstairs and the drum beat dragged me back down going who is that? Her jaw utterly dropped. Her Mom was stuck on '70's soft rock and she wasn't sure she was seeing this reality. I love this song!
I used this song to get my son hooked on Alternative music. Now he likes FFDP, Three Days Grace, Corey Taylor's stuff, Nirvana, Metallica, and a lot more. Still working on my daughter though. Their mom can't stand any of it. She yells at them if she hears it. She says it's the devils music. I told her to tell her mom that parent's used to say the same about Elvis. She hasn't used that one yet, but it isn't going to be good when she does. Their mom says that it's my fault that they do what they do, and act the way they do. They are just rebelling against her. LOL

My dad was born in 1964 and grew up on 70's and 80's hard rock bands like KISS, AC/DC, Black Sabbath, and Van Halen (probably his favorite). When the 90's came along, he liked a few grunge bands like Alice in Chains and Nirvana, but mostly, I remember him thinking the music from that period and onward sucked. In 2002, this song hit the local rock station, and he loved it. To this day he'll ask me, "What's that one song that goes, 'I'm not the one who's so far away?' I like that song." He was recently diagnosed with tonsil cancer and is currently going through radiation treatment. The doctors say he's got a great chance of beating the disease, and he's fighting like hell. Every time I hear this song, I think of him.
Friday nights 🌙 ✨️ riding in back seat my mom and her drunk friends singing it. Im 12 and they wonder why i wound up liking music i wound up liking. Funny story... when my youngest son was about 4 months old, we were visiting my brother and his family one day. My brother had been downloading some music. This was back in the Napster days. Anyway, my son was already starting to cut his first tooth and was getting super fussy. While waiting for the Tylenol to kick in, my brother starts playing this song he had just downloaded. As soon as the drum part started, my son immediately stopped crying and got this dazed, almost mesmerized look on his face! Once the song was over, he started crying again. We replayed the song and he stopped crying! Basically, until he was about 3 years old, this song would immediately calm him if he was being fussy! The interesting part is, my son is now a drummer and this was one of the first songs he learned to play when we bought him his first kit, when he was 14. He's in college now and still plays it occasionally. So any new parents out there with a fussy baby, give it a try! 😂😂😂
When My niece could stand with a table, but not walk yet, She'd get up everytime She heard a certain Budlight party commercial & start circling Her hips! It was so damn cute & funny!!! She loved the song!
Have to be sane & rock out or we would be the one so far away. Be safe, healthy & sane, this is going to be a pandemic a lot longer than we know. SAD TIMES.
I saw godsmack open for Metallica in Salt Lake city I believe 2005 godsmack was better than Metallica. I had seen Metallica 3 times before that had no clue who godsmack was. I knew who they were after that. Both bands got 9n stage together at the end and played old school zeppelin and black sabbath. 🔥
I'm 68 and the meaning of the lyrics aren't clear to me yet. I grew up in the 60's with a heroin addict brother so I immediate assumed that's what this song meant. Then the lyrics about demons and voodoo come on and I go in another direction. Watching this video I got less confused, then the comments so I am back to being confused. Love the song and music. Big fan of bass and drums. Love the song.
P.s. its 2022 and I thought this was new...livin in Lake Havasu city Arizona and only good stuff comes out of Needles and Kingman. Too far from Phoenix but this great granny is trying to listen to good stuff.

@JamesWhite-wz2pc You got this! The kingdom of God lies within & all around you. We're all homeless at the end of the day. My dad was on Korea. Vietnam, well enough said, should have never been. Make sure you stay on top of the social worker. 💖🇺🇸 from Florida.
This song just like the bands called Disturbed, Korn and Nirvana helped me recover from all the past verbal abuse and drug use I suffered. I will never stop listening to it!
This is still my favorite song from Godsmack 🤘😎🤘 I could listen to this song on repeat in my truck on the way to work in the morning. Had a system professionally installed and this song booms. I love feeling that thump!

Absolutely. I love that I can sing with them. I'm a small woman with a small speaking voice and my husband was blown away that I could sing right along with gobsmacked. I love their low level gravelly sound. I will never tire of them.
They took a much needed break being on the road for 4 year's.. No life He said..it's sad because bands need to rest.. Nice to see they have family children friends...
Yep, same. For me, I remember this one song that had lyrics that went like "Do it like a monster," and in like a monster voice; I don't remember the name of the song, but I'll probably find it someday

Hey Kennedy, ..Have you heard of "Nixon 2.0!?!?" ...It's tied to a "Miranda Rights 2.0" AND from what I know this is like a "Bill of Rights" for the internet AKA World Wide Web!!!
My first concert was godsmack I was front row center I caught sullys drumstick during the drum off and I caught the opening act Dropbox drumstick killer night
one of the best concerts of my child hood , i remember starting a grass fight to this song at blossom in Cleveland Ohio that endin up tearing up the lawn and bolting out the sun! was so epic ill never forget it.
Again with the 90s were better shit. First, this song came out in 2009. Second, just because these songs were iconic to us doesn't mean they are the best. It means we are just stuck in that time. Good songs still come out, and kids who are growing up with them will find them iconic at a later time.
It's so easy to get stuck in the past, I know. I can get in my own little world and think Depeche Mode is the last good moment in music but then I turn around. Im acting like Kanye is not genius, Section.80 I won't be iconic to the current generation, as if King Krule doesn't exist and Benjamin Clementine is not Nina Simone reincarnated. We still got good music, you just got to know where it's at. That music will become the iconic music with time. Crap from this time will become iconic as well, just like some 90s crap is also iconic. There's good and bad at every turn. No time period is especially sacred.
Great song to let go of emotions. Stands the test of time a great song . Great drums guitar vocals . This song is literally a experience! Music for the soul and heart. ❤❤ this and the I stand alone song are my favorites! ❤❤
Rock was the absolute fucking elite. But people "moved on" somehow, and music nowadays is not really music. I know I can't move on. Rock speaks to your soul, it's like nothing else.
@Texas Rattlesnek I appreciate the heads up on the new band but trust me if I aint heard of it until now the movement is dying we need a new breed of musicians to step up.

Hope for a healthy and speedy recovery.
Hopefully he'll Smack that cancer in its ass. Prayers 🙏🙏🙏
May Apollo guide and protect him and you and heal you guys 💗💗
.
Or whichever Deity or deities you pray to 💗💗💗
.
Hope he beats it.

I've loved godsmack for nearly 2 decades. So tough to have just one favorite song from this group. They are legend.
I've been craving Godsmack lately and i forgot how great this band is!
Probably the douchiest facial hair in metal/rock though. Lol

This is way too cool...
You guys fused the metal with his bones.
When My niece could stand with a table, but not walk yet, She'd get up everytime She heard a certain Budlight party commercial & start circling Her hips! It was so damn cute & funny!!! She loved the song!

This song had a very long standing effect on my music taste. Still as good as I remember.
So much good stuff came out in the 90s, sad how times have changed where iconic songs like this just aren't produced anymore.
Now we hate that mumble dogshit
This came out in the early 2000s, but you're so right about the 90s comment
Again with the 90s were better shit. First, this song came out in 2009.
Second, just because these songs were iconic to us doesn't mean they are the best. It means we are just stuck in that time. Good songs still come out, and kids who are growing up with them will find them iconic at a later time.
@@mdragarg This song came out in 1999...
Tomorrow night, I will be watching Godsmack live in Bangor Maine. It will be the 3rd time I see them live. I'm so excited
That would be awesome!!! I hope you had a great time ❤!
