    If you don't like the way the excess strap flaps around I found you can just switch the straps so the excess strap length goes towards the bag instead of away and then you can tuck it inside the side pockets.

    You can use black elastic hair ties for strap management. They work great and since they are covered they aren't snaggy as some rubber o-rings can be.

    Several months ago I started using a similar product made by Orveja Negra. It's very handy. Especially with a frame that lacks water bottle mounts. It keeps a bottle cleaner on dusty trails as well. Also, thanks for the helicopter tape tip. I'm my case worn paint means rust.

      Right! Oveja Negra stuff is cool, especially with their wild designs

    I just picked up one of these at Maverik cycles in Whittier. Have you been to the shop? Great spot, I would highly recommend. I think it be great if you did a feature on them like you did with luft as well

      Mavericks is a gem. Definitely the east side version of Luft.

    This is probably my next (and third) purchase from Outer Shell - love their products! Agreed on strap management, I use rubber o-rings on the Saddlebag's Voile strap to keep it clean. I'd probably do the same for the Caddy. I got the idea from my Specialized Burra Burra frame bag.

      Also, I'm tempted to get the Caddy for the Leica Q or get their camera strap.

      Damn it - I meant fourth purchase. I have their basket bag on my old Stumpy. Fantastic for banh mi sandwiches and leisurely rides with my wife.

    Nice. Debating on getting one of these types of bags. I have a revelate seat and handle bar bag, apidura top tube and a rockgiest frame bag.

      @@TheBikeSauce I went a little Gucci and got the custom frame bag but I wanted a bolt in with top lace, just because.

    I recently added a tank style bag. Bolt on so no straps. Not in the way. Easy access.

    • @TheBikeSauce
      @TheBikeSauce  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nice! I like the gas stank style for easy access, but I find it gets in my way at traffic stops, etc, when I like to kind of sit on the top tube. Just a personal preference

    I think "Party Pace" is copyrighted :-) Cut off a small piece of old narrow inner tube and make your own strap holders (aka Ranger Bands)...custom widths! I have used HUNDREDS

    • @TheBikeSauce

      Nice idea! As far as I know, Russ @pathlesspedaled is pretty open to everyone adopting the#partypace lifestyle. I've been using the term pretty liberally, because it's such a good description of my riding philosophy (and so many others).

    Your channel is amazing. Great work. I see you briefly showed the Chrome Double Track bag, How’d you compare them? Im on the fence between those (2). Mesh stretchy side, insulated or foam internal, which is Larger. Not too big (like other bags). That dark camo is hard to beat!

    Do you know of a good handlebar bag for the stock diverge bars that will also work with the wahoo out front mount? Thanks

    • @TheBikeSauce
      @TheBikeSauce  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Most burrito style bags will tuck underneath the out front mount. My Edge out front mount sits just above my Lead Out! Bar bag.

    • @jon.e19
      @jon.e19 ปีที่แล้ว

      Just get a mount with a pivot joint so you can angle it slightly up, use any bag you’d like

    Does the Stem Caddy get in the way when riding on the tops?

    • @TheBikeSauce
      @TheBikeSauce  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yea it does a bit, but there's still room. I ride a pretty narrow 40cm bar, so if you ride wider bars, there'd be plenty of space I think.

    What bags do you have on your bike for everyday partypace riding

    • @TheBikeSauce
      @TheBikeSauce  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      haha, my everyday bags are both Outershell actually. The half frame bag and the stem caddy are my go-tos. I'll sometimes switch the stem caddy for a bar bar, or use both, depending on the type of ride.

    I think the second you say “my friends over at outer shell” the review is not objective or independent.

    • @TheBikeSauce
      @TheBikeSauce  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I wasn’t paid for the review, so it’s independent.

    • @pgreenx
      @pgreenx 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheBikeSaucedid you get the bag for free or have then provide any quid pro qo service such as recommendations?
      just not getting paid doesn't cut it
      That said, there's the concept of "arm's length" which implies you are not friends either in order to do an independent review.
      In the hiking world the largest channels clearly state they are completely indendant, pay for everything with there own money, etc and in the long run people are smart and understand being friends with a manufacturer sways a review.
      Your channel so do want you want but I couldn't let this go when I heard the frinds word
      That said, I have some outer shell stuff but went with he rouge panda pouch for the mesh/ other pockets.

    • @TheBikeSauce
      @TheBikeSauce  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Didn’t receive anything for free and I get arms-length. We’ve only communicated through email and follow each others IG. Hopefully that’s enough transparency. Most YT reviewers follow the same process. Some are compensated and should state when that happens.

    • @pgreenx
      @pgreenx 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheBikeSauce so you paid full price and are independent. Also they really aren’t friends and you told them. Never give you anything because you want to be an independent reviewer.
      Most TH-cam reviewers are basically distributors for manufacturers and most people know it.
      The best channels are really independent which is hard In The beginning.
      Btw- I do like your channel as you portray products so I can make up my own mind but friends never say bad things about each other.
      Again- the bag needs mesh side pouches and I would say it’s a no go for me.
