Pan khaaya nahi jaata , uskaa dheere dheere lutf liya jaata hai. Mai 30 saal se raat ke khane ke baad kalkatti sadaa pan khata hun. Pan has many benefits, it aids digestion, prevents constipation and is also an aphrodisiac. That is why on suhaag raat , the groom was given a glass of hot milk ( also an aphrodisiac) and a paan. This pan had cloves , elaichi , supari along with katha and chuna . This was called ' palangtod pan ' . I think you understood.

प्राचीन भारतीय संस्कृति का प्रतीक पान था, जो पौराणिक देवताओं को भी प्रिय था। परांबा के चौसठोपचारों में पान भी अनिवार्य रहा है। पाश्चात्य संस्कृति ने पान की महत्ता को कमतर कर दिया है।

भैया 1964 की तो नहीं लेकिन मैने 1975 में पान खाना शुरू किया था तब वो 50पैसे का मिलता था। लेकिन मेरे शहर में ही एक पान वाला 10 रुपए का भी पान बेचता था। बहुत हिम्मत करके एक बार मैने उससे वो पान मांगा पर उसने देने से इनकार कर दिया। बहुत बाद में पता चला वो कुछ खास लोगो को कोकीन लगाकर पान देता था।वो उसके खास ग्राहक थे।
