I remember this. I was hooked as a kid after I saw The Phoenix go into a burning building to rescue a cat and her kittens. He brought them all out holding their box in his arms, and surrounded by some kind of protective energy field. Made my eyes sweat.
Oh Man, the good old days. When Tv show had class and style. When I thought that it would cool to be an adult and that th eworld is great. The good old memories. Thanks Adam
I knew this TV show existed ... it goes back to one of my earliest childhood memories. (I was only 6 when it was on TV.) The only memory I had of this show was the golden medallion that he would hold up to the sun to get his power. I was too young to know who any of the actors were and I couldn't remember the name of the show. And no one I knew had ever heard of it. So finally ... after all these years, it's awesome to see this intro ... proving this show was real and not my imagination. :)
Glad to see the love for this show! I really loved it as a kid and was all into the "hero on the run" thing. Bennu was a man of peace who was trying to find his purpose in the world. I remember meeting Judson Scott at a Star Trek (?) convention years after and I asked him about the show. He said he was still working to bring it back to TV. Shame it never happened. It was a cool show.
Excellent!! Thank you for confirming this. I thought this show was great back in the day, and too bad it didn't last long.--I wish TV Land would quit showing Andy Griffith and Gunsmoke five million times and put hidden TV treasures like this on once in awhile!!

James in the original V series, he's a excellent actor and musician who unfortunately as far as i'm concerned hasn't gotten the recognition he deserves, because he's most definetly been blessed with many excellent and strong good talents
I just saw a Wrath of Khan clip and remembered there was a series I liked with this guy in it and had a heck of a time finding his name, and the name of the show. I can't believe I remembered it. I was only 11. Wow, shows from back then sure look cheezy when you're an adult. Thanks for posting this. It's kind of annoying to only be able to almost remember something.
I remember watching this. It was a good idea for a show. Its too bad it didnt catch on. I always thought Judson Scott (who almost always had been cast as villains) had a fascinating presence.
I remember Judson Scott mostly for The Phoenix and not Star Trek. Strange how certain shows stick with a person. Saw the show when it originally aired.
This was my favorite show when I was 11 or so, even with only four shows produced. Something about that whole ancient astronaut New Agey thing hit me where I lived even at that age, it was just cool and smart and mystical. That and a little Nimoy hosting "In Search Of..." and I was all set.
Thank you, thank you for the memories. I used to play the TV theme over & over on the piano like when i was a kid! Looking back, I was in so awe-sruck. Now, I'm like -- wow, it really seemed dated. Great concept though and of course, a good score. Thanks for having it!
Wow, thanks for posting this. Blast from the past!! Wild thing is this guy is still acting. I know he's been in multiple Star Trek (old and new). I don't know what it was but I was always addicted to the short-lived stuff. Did a good job feeding my imagination! Who says TV can't raise your kids!! lol

Thanks for sharing the clip. Such a shame this only lasted a few episodes. It is dated watching it now, but nevertheless it had heart and intelligence, I always get a warm glow when watching it. There were several scripts knocking around for unaired episodes which gives us fans more to think about. I doubt we'll ever see a dvd release somehow, but we can only hope some obscure cable channel will continue to repeat it for future generations every now and again.
I love how in the opening it says the Phoenix was endowed with superior intelligence but when the same actor was dying on the bridge of the USS Reliant in Wrath OF Khan he grabs Khan's tunic and says "Yours is the superior intellect".
I remember his show as well. The main thing I remember is him playing a video game that had something to do with a phoenix and was winning quite easily with all these kids watching him and cheering him on.
