I was so lucky to see them at MSG in 1970, promoting this album.. What a show! Full horn section(off to the side of the main stage).

Quite lucky indeed!!! I bought this Lp (second hand of course) at 17 yrs old. It blow my mind: Shamans Blues, The Soft Parade, Do It... Didnt knew this was the most underrated of their career, dont agree still. Every album of The Doors is uniqe.

@@Gunmetalbluejeeptjs Everyone in the band was very high, They had some sound issues and the band stopped one player at a time,. Morrison drank a fifth of whiskey in the first set. It was in the round, but not moving, so our seats were great. They sounded amazing! Talented beyond belief!
This is my favorite Doors album. ..every song on it is good....Jim had another side of himself.. mellow and sweet.. Tell All The People... great opening for sure 😊
The title track and Easy Ride are the only tracks that I dislike. It's an otherwise very good album, though not their best.
How can anyone in their right mind not like the song Soft Parade? It's fantastic!! One of The Doors best studio masterpiece extravaganzas.

Soft Parade is the most underrated song of all time.
Robby and girlfriend Lynn got married in 1972. 50 year anniversary this year. December 26. They had just met in '68, when that clip of them was shot with him playing guitar by her.
How many original members are still with us? I know some believed Jim was still alive in Paris or something since it was weird how the body was never seen or photograph taken and it was not certain what killed him. I know he upset our police here in Phoenix with his behavior on board the plane and was refused to travel a short distance by authorities to state fair from airport. However being the gig was our state fair he was escorted to and then from the fair to take next flight out. As I heard it the flight was not going to L.A. going to Nova Scotia or someplace worse Phoenix Police were very bad back in those days.

Been a doors fan since the 70s. Jim had passed but they have always played their music. I hope Jim is resting in peace a true legend
The more I listen to this record, the more I realize what a masterpiece it is.

The Doors were so good that everything they did became awesome, so is this album with the addition of strings and horns and whatever, Jim Morrison was a great vocalist and a great personality, the album reached the number 6 on the USA billboard chart, not bad at all for the most underrated album by The Doors, thanks for sharing.
Wishful sinful is a absolute masterpiece , the amount of talent from all the people that put that song together to Jim’s vocals which in my opinion is the best singer out there, up there or even better than guys like Frank Sinatra ect, but all of them are good in they’re own ways 🔥🔥🔥🦎👑

Robby Krieger wrote the first two songs, music and lyrics, Tell all the People AND Touch Me. So underated! Keep rockin, Robby!!
Light My Fire wasn't too bad. I LOVE the fact that the band NEVER had an issue with writing credits, etc. In all of the interviews given by Ray, he notes every song was a collaborative effort, finessed at "the Doors workshop."

We were choosing songs in hospital because I had snapped the neck of my femur and this album was requested touch me especially well loved and the young people were listening and saying that They are geniuses touch me was played by me for every one that was nervous and it cheered all of us up

It’s a gem. My favorite. 14 in 1980 and I bought it, I love all these songs. Have American Prayer as well. Jim was a poet, pure and simple. This album reflected that. 😊
I don't know why, but, every time I get really drunk, I end up listening to this album. ??? Oh Well. Jim Morrison, still the last American poet. Can't believe he didn't really want to sing at first. He had a gr8 voice. Glad he changed his mind.

Great album...band sounds real good with the brass section too..... Jim is right on the money throughout the album....all they could do is get better from this point on, which they did.....Always will enjoy these songs, 'till kingdom come.....

Along with The Beatles and 1970s Kiss, The Doors were like the most consistently prolific and provocatively diverse rock group ever, i mean like listen to any studio album by The Doors and you'll hear more great songs than most other rock bands greatest hits albums, like think about what that really means.
One of the few bands of mine, where there's hardly a bad song in their body of work.

OK, I just made THE COOLEST mistake. I was playing the song, "The Soft Parade" and had another tab open that was playing a live jam in The End. The audio from both is playing and they were spot-on married... the jam and Morrison speaking the opening lines "When I was back there in seminary school. There was a person there who put forth the proposition..." LA DJ Jim Ladd used to do this all the time - even with different bands - and was a master. Me? It has to be a mistake to work out... and it did.

This is my favorite of all the Doors albums,it’s a combination of jazz,blues,psychedelia&rock as it doesn’t sound like any of their other albums standing along by itself.Even though the critics at the time didn’t like it but now most of those same critics think The Soft Parade album is one of their best.Wild Child is my favorite song on the album and there is a video of an in the studio performance recording on TH-cam if you can find it.A classic album if there ever was one!I was 14 years old when I bought it and played it to death.
