Denmark is a big cycling nation, but have waited a long time, but now a golden generation have come through, and new great riders seem to be coming through the ranks aswell.
Just look at the start of this magnifique clip: Mads Pedersen, already been in breakaway for 16k on own initiative, so close to be caught by the peleton. But as living pictures shows, he took the initiative at the right moments from then on. Well deserved champion in the hardest worlds I can imagine since 1980 Sallanches. His old school +300k everyday training rides in all kind of weather is like taken from Eddy Merckx decade payed well off here. Mads Pedersens winning chances becomes better as harder the race and the harder the weather conditions are. In shorter distance and just a bit hotter and dry conditions Trentin would've eaten Mads alive 99 out of 100 times. For Mads Pedersen POV I hope extremely cold and hard raced Parix - Roubaix 2020, so he will be able to honor the rainbow jersey well.
@@jatojo Of course, but speaking the toughness and exhausting elimination race, Harrogate belongs to one of the top races for the last four decades (the period I've watched cycling races)
@@stenovitz I think Harrogate was the toughest, since even the riders who finished among the best thought it was awful. :) For many of the favourites, the conditions were a bigger threat than the other riders, it seemed. It obviously became a race where endurance was extremely decisive, most evidently proven by the collapse of Van der Poel.
so true, hes my idol and hes the one i was watching for the most besides, trentin,sagan but he did good at the race but not when theyre very close to the finish, i felt so bad for him. and im kinda disappointed of the 2019 championship to be honest, its pretty brutal since it rained and cars are making the race annoying since they are eating the lanes that makes the race kind of awkward, but its gonna be written in history how MADS PEDERSEN won the brutal race
@@ungave5698 Good old Pedders, tougher than the rest. They had to leave two stonking hills out of the course due to the weather. It was like a wet Paris Roubaix on acid. Proud me land gave a great course, Mountain less as we are.
Yorkshire roads are bastards to ride in the dry let alone in these conditions. I was at the race and the weather was horrid so anyone who won this was a hero in my book!

@@gata8747 bof moin que les Années précédente certe mais il n'arrive même pas a la cheville du 2006 qui pour moi reste le plus beau GT des années 2000 le dernier tdf digne de ce nom doit être le 2011 (peut être le 2015 si quintana aurait gagné) puis bon le tdf de cette année ça reste un Sky qui gagne ,les 3dernieres étape était nul et puis chuis dsl mais c'était année CT claquée au sol , chez les favoris , aucun cadors apart valverde et bernal (pas de Dumoulin, roglic , Froome) tt les membres du top 10 avait le potentiel pour décrocher un podium (apart alaphilipe peut être ) et tt les membres du top 20 pour décrocher un top 10 , le plateau était vraiment faible cette année suffit de regarder qui c'est le 3,4,5, 7,10 ème ce sont que des outsiders
Peut-être que le 2006 était vraiment intéressant le 201a également mais pour le 2015 il n y a eu que les 3 derniers étapes où quintana s'est réveillé que il vraiment été intéressant. Pour moi-même si il n y avait pas de grands cadors, on a pu découvrir même si on connaissait déjà leur talent le niveau des autres cyclistes autres que la ineos. C'est un des premiers tdf depuis 2014 ou la sky ne contrôlent pas tellement la course même si a la fin il gagne il n a pas eu le maillot jaune pendant 2 semaine comme froome ou thomas
Franchement pas terribles les commentaires, ils ont complètement raté leur prévision. Et on s'attendrait qu'ils avaient un peu plus de compréhension pour le cyclisme, mais ils ont sous-estimé que la distance et la météo ont complètement détruit la plupart des courreurs...

Tough weather, Hard conditions, Long Race Mads P is a good bet for a winner.
Tougher roads in Wales made Thomas a TdF winner, but Yorkshire humbled the greats, well done Denmark and Pederson. Blighty hills ain't easy.
