Born and bred Jersey City Italian here.I remember going to that Loews when I was a kid.We actually had three theaters back then. One block to the right was the Stanley and around the corner to the left was the State. The best hot dogs in the world is right next door to the left of where they was standing outside called Boulevard Drinks. It's a hole in the wall joint with a couple stools and about two feet wide but you can't beat the hotdogs. The best pizza used to be right across the street in the alley back in the day.Three Brothers was the name and again , was like a hole in the wall with just standing room to eat. They didn't deliver so us kids from the Heights would walk all the way to Journal Square just for a slice of pizza.Ahhh the good ole days in Jersey City.

I decided to make pasta during this clip and had no idea why until I realized I was eating pasta and watching this clip.

Trust me... the Polish and Germans were doing pretty much the same things in their basement kitchens lol Everyone I remember had a big cast iron coal/ wood burning stove. It baked a cake in 10 mins and the only gage on the oven door was warm, medium and hot. They would open and close the oven door to keep it at the right setting. It also heated the basement and the rest of the heat floated upstairs lol
