As I watched this, I kept thinking, "Ooh, so gonna try that. …And that! And that!!" This is why I find myself re-watching your vids. They're so rich with ideas. So many thanks for sharing with us. ❤️❤️
Very nice and clear Totally get everything you say.Shadow work is a new level of deep connectivity and now discovered it there's no going back. Thanks for the tips.
Working with a card that keeps haunting you is definitely something that has happened to me recently and I found that the messages I got from the card changed as the week/situation progressed. I was haunted by the Queen of Cups. At first she was telling me to practice sovereignty with my emotions and that I had a right to feel the way I was feeling. When she popped up again a day or so later, she was like, "Bitch, you need to get a grip on how you're emotionally reacting to this situation." And finally, when she appeared AGAIN I understood her to mean that the cycle had come full circle, I digested and processed what she needed me to understand. Thank you Kelly-Ann for these wonderful ideas!
greetings Kelly-Ann. The conscious draw idea is brilliant! I'm excited to try it out especially since I tend to wish for cards to show up yet they never do. Shamanic journey work is an integral part of my spiritual practice, so pathworking with the cards, going into the cards and talking to the characters in the cards and asking questions, comes so natural to me. it is a favorite tool of mine to deepen my relationship to the cards. many thanks for another superb video. I love watching.
Fantastic ideas! I've been doing a lot of face-up tarot this year -- including choosing the cards I wanted for my Year Ahead forecast. It's very empowering!
I have one (dark) Lenormand deck (nearly all the cards in it are so triggering for me). I also use “White light” oracle deck after doing some shadow work. Light just comes out of them so strongly that I call this exercise “shower of light” 🤣. I take cards one by one meditating on each of them and imagining light in the card coming down from my crown chakra and at the same time thinking of a question to “the wise one” (picture on the card) and then applying the answer to pice of my shadow that I am working with. I’m grateful🙏🏻 So useful tips!
That is very interesting, i am just learning tarot and this has made me see the deck as a tool for "picturing" characters in my life, in addition to the random spirit messages "delivered" to me, that i usually look for. Thanks for this info. :]
Great tips! I think it's interesting that you mentioned that you really didn't like the Queen of Pentacles. I feel very connected to her, at least in terms of a representation of who I'm striving to be.
HEY YOU! YEA YOU! KELLY!! I bought some dresses off the killstar website that you had in your link a while ago. Your bf was wearing a universe sweatshirt and I bought the same thing in a long-sleeve Tshirt form. I FUCKING LOVE IT!! IT IS SO BEAUTIFUL!!! THANK YOU FOR LINKING ME TO THIS DARK WEBSITE.. I AM IN LOVE!!! I also bought the Egyptian dresses with the bird across the breast and I also bought the all black dress with the 3 Egyptian symbols down the body. I'm so tempted to spend all my money on this wedsite. THANK YOU
Thank you so much, and I had no idea what shadow work really was, and also didn’t know how to go about it with the decks. Very goo d info. I took lots of notes
I know this is a really old video, but I’ve just gotten to a place of wanting/needing to do some shadow work... and wow, some incredible ideas in here. Thanks greatly 💖
I've always pulled out cards I don't like from a new deck to journal about why - but mostly I stick to imagery rather than the associations. Thank you so much for peeling back that layer! xoxoxox
Absolutely agree about the power of giving up control to an outside actor--in this case, the cards--when it comes to what to focus on. It's doubly beneficial, I think, if you're the sort of person who's a little Type A otherwise. There's something to be said for shoving yourself off balance and into a slightly vulnerable state when delving into shit you might otherwise prefer to avoid, and surrendering direction is a great way of doing so.
This video is great!! Just started with tarot and i am still learning and this video is great❤️ like youre haircolor. Got myself a ruby haircolor at the moment haha
Oh man...2 of swords in Deviant Moon intuitively makes me think of inner conflict & choices - I hate it!!! Two heads of the same body facing one another as though they're battling. Makes me uneasy, probably because I overthink & question every choice I make!
This is so useful thank you. I have been really stuck with tarot for a very long time, getting rid of 2 of my 5 decks & considering ditching the lot. At the turn of this year my remaining decks have been calling somewhat and I've had a little half hearted play with them. I think it wasn't new spreads I needed but completely new tools, like these. About 10 years ago I did the exercise (I think by Mary Greer) where you order the court cards from most liked to least. Then you imagine interacting with the top and bottom few in some imaginary scene, like a party, then journal the findings. It was very illuminating at the time but I'd forgotten about it until I listened to this video. It seems an appropriate starting point for me to re-bond with tarot as a self-awareness tool. Funny you should mention strangling the Q of P - I have similar feelings at the moment lol.
These are awesome ideas. I have worked specifically with cards I don't like *cough* Justice and 8 of Swords *cough* but I haven't thought about spending a whole week with the card. That sounds both agonizing and useful. The conscious choosing of cards for a spread sounds like a real mind-fuck but also very useful. I'm definitely going to try that. I might have to work my way up to the "card for the week" one. Thank you for such great shadow work ideas! Many happy returns of the day (assuming it's a good one)!
Honestly The Tower is my dickhead card. Will definitely try working with it more and see what comes up. I also have an Oracle deck that pokes me in this wat that I'm going to try this with and see what happens.
You have such amazing detailed content.have you ever thought about posting the audio as a podcast? Since your vids are quite long and more about what you are saying than visuals I think it would translate super well. Then I would be able to absorb more of your content s it is hard to devote 1/2hr to a TH-cam video but could to a podcast as I could be listening while driving or cooking etc.
Brilliant. Thank you. I'm new to Tarot, but all the other "ways" of doing shadow work don't seem to be clicking with me. This seems more "in touch" for me.
This is marvelous! I appreciate you posting this. I've been kind of stuck on how to actually incorporate tarot/oracle into my shadow work. These are some great suggestions. I've never been terribly attracted to oracle, but recently have found a few that I'm really liking. I just purchased the sacred rebels oracle for the purpose of self exploration, healing, and shadow work, so this video couldn't have come at a better time. I still feel a bit disconnected from oracle, but I think this will help a great deal. I can absolutely already see how to apply this to my tarot tho! My question would be, do you think using lighter more whimsical decks would still be useful in this capacity or do you need to use your darker more provocative decks specifically ? It seems like it might be interesting to try. Thanks so much for posting this and for all your hard work for us! Much love to your beautiful being
When you talked about laying out the cards similar to sand therapy, are you looking at the meaning of the specific cards used (and choosing conciously) or are you going off of subconcious inspiration and aesthetic and seeing what it ends painting for you?
Would these methods be beneficial towards runes? I have been really irritated by the Romance rune from the Whytch's Runes. My Matron keeps making me pull it out to the point where we agreed I won't draw anymore until I deal with it.
Love your videos! These tips are great! I've started applying the "sandbox" method to my frustration with my job and it is already revealing some interesting perspectives. Thank you! Also, a bit off topic, and you have probably already been asked this question, but have you seen the movie The Babadook? In one of your old videos you mentioned you liked horror films, and the theme of that one seems like it would be something you might be into.
i always think youre a INTP, as a personality type, great tips too. mines the the tower, wheel, knight of wands and the moon, all Major too. i love change the unknown in my self doing it, but any partners with change the unknown,,can fuck off .. hate the word maybe , the not knowing where i stand ,but i can do it .. that control ,
Good question! I would go with the cards which make you feel emotionally uncomfortable - for instance, cards which make you feel angry, anxious, sad or unsure.. Sometimes we can dislike some of the art in the card but still receive a positive emotion from the card. So, I'd recommend not worrying about the art but just asking, 'Does this make me feel uneasy in some way?'
I know that I have cards in my decks which I don't like. But I wonder about the cards which don't actually speak to me. I pull it in a reading and I get nothing from it. Would that also be the same situation? Or is it something else?
I work with Ogham cards, and I struggle with the "heather" card for a really stupid reason which is that my ex's name is Heather, and she really broke my heart. But this is a plant. The card's meaning itself doesn't even remind me of her! grr!

All over the world, tarot workers everywhere are thinking '10 of Swords' and going 'Aah... crap.' 😂
lol the truth
For me it’s the tower, scares the shit outta me.
Temperance & 3 of Swords used to, reminded me of an ex Sag
Literally all of the 5s 🤣
Oooh… rewatching and looking so forward to “Witch in Darkness “
I don't think I've ever done conscious draws for a whole spread, and I'm super excited to give it a shot. Thank you! 🙌💗

Thank you SOOO much for this post. I am in the midst of some major shadow work and this video is just the advice that I need to focus my work. :)
Thankyou so much for the different tips of shadow work. ♡☆♡
Thank you for sharing the insightful shadow work tips.

Imagining the Mortal Combat fight:Kelly-Ann VS Queen of Pentacles hahahhahaha
You look gorgeous babe
*sigh* I love this so much. But you know how much I love shadow work. I'm definitely going to sit with some of these tonight and give them some goes.

I was thinking about that since I started
FAAbulous Kelly ...Thanyou
Thank you some much Kelly Ann, these tips are very useful and just in time for me. Starting of with finding a card that bugs me
Honestly The Tower is my dickhead card. Will definitely try working with it more and see what comes up. I also have an Oracle deck that pokes me in this wat that I'm going to try this with and see what happens.

Great tips, thank you!
I LOVE these suggestions!

Kelly-Ann ,I've used tarot in my shadow work..through helping my inner child heal
Is it ok to still feel resentful afterwards?
What deck do you recommend? I personally have had strange predictive results with Aleister Crowley's Thoth deck.
Would these methods be beneficial towards runes? I have been really irritated by the Romance rune from the Whytch's Runes. My Matron keeps making me pull it out to the point where we agreed I won't draw anymore until I deal with it.
Love this thank you !!!! I have so many fuck off cards lol

Now for choosing cards we do not like, should it be because of the artwork, or the card meaning?
Good question! I would go with the cards which make you feel emotionally uncomfortable - for instance, cards which make you feel angry, anxious, sad or unsure.. Thank you so very much, Kelly-Ann
do you have any good resources for this Sandplay? because I tried it but didn't know how to work with the picture in the end.
I know that I have cards in my decks which I don't like. But I wonder about the cards which don't actually speak to me. I pull it in a reading and I get nothing from it. Would that also be the same situation? Or is it something else?
Do you think Tarot cards are actually able to predict the future or do you think they are just a tool for examining the reader's own psyche?
Is there a difference?
Both.
I don't think there are any cards that I particularly dislike
I work with Ogham cards, and I struggle with the "heather" card for a really stupid reason which is that my ex's name is Heather, and she really broke my heart. But this is a plant. The card's meaning itself doesn't even remind me of her! grr!
Commenting just so the comment number goes to 70. 🤣
Tarot cards I don't like: the entire suit of pentacles.
