This is sensational Matt, I have been here supporting your channel since 500 subs and now you have over 80k and can get Coventry legends on the channel. Please do more of these!
Congratulations matt! Oggy is a true legend and your happiness during this interview was easy to see. You deserved this and thank you for sharing this with all of us. PUSB!
Matts a bit star stuck I know I would be. When I was at school everyone mentioned oggy and I was the only Coventry fan in my school. He was the biggest household name in a team with ndlovu, Dublin
@robertmason6366 Yeah I remember those days. I was lucky enough to do some work at the training ground when I was a youngster l. Premier league then, it was awesome.
Good work Matt. Great coup getting oggie on. I will never forget that 96/97 season. We had to win at Spurs and Sunderland along with a Boro side with the likes of junihou had to avoid defeat. Oggie was man of the match. He was 40 odd at the time and he literally kept us in the division.
What a True legend ! A man of many talents I saw him play many times including the FA cup final he's also one of very few football commentators that I enjoy listening to
You've deserved such an interview with a footballing giant, and you conducted it very well. Two good footballing people talking football and Coventry. A joy to watch. Steve Ogrizovic. A true gentleman.
Well done matt that must have been nerve-racking interviewing an absolute legend. Great questions too. Look forward to your next special guest!! 🩵 PUSB
Class post Matt. I left Newark in 1977 at 16 to work for GEC at Spon Street in Cov. So many great memories of the city and Highfield Road, mostly Forest winning the league and watching Stuart Pearce in the reserves on a Tuesday night later on ...and The Specials as they started out - Mr George's, The Robin Hood Club and La Chaumiere were all great night's out. Good luck bud, COYR and PUSB.
Coventry City have never and will never have a Goalkeeper as good as Steve Ogrizovic. He kept us in the 1st division / premier league on so many occasions.
Thanks for this, mate, I always enjoy hearing what Oggy has to say about the past, and the present. In my time as a supporter (37 years) Oggy was a big part of it from late ‘86 to when he retired in ‘00. Such a fantastic professional, and was a great motivator. Rarely made a blunder, and commanded his area like a colossus. Will never forget his 2nd half against Spurs in 96/97, he was a brick wall in the last 20 minutes. 👏🩵 Him and Clive are the dream team on commentary. 👍🏻
I'm glad oggie for mentioned last seasons Cup run(Burn out etc) effecting our league form at the end of the season.(For those half emptiers thst want to join up 2 different seasons)
Yes by 2028 Coventry City will make it back to the premier league, the bad starts don't help but Mark Robins is building something special year on year
Great Interview Matt! Have watched Steve playing at Highfield Road over his career, unfortunately lived in Cornwall since 1966 and don’t get to games now as often as I would like😢 but I felt a bit of a connection when I realised my daughter was born in the January of 1987 on that memorable cup Final Year! Sadly I didn’t make that cup final or the team around the city but my heart was definitely there! So thanks to Oggy( Cornish for Pasty) for taking time out to do your interview and looking forward to his commentary this afternoon at the Middlesbrough game! PUSB 😊
Well Done Matt Great coup. What a great person and gk Oggy is. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 I was down in Kent in ‘87 only moving to Cov in ‘90, and becoming a season ticket holder with my 10y.o. son in ‘91. But we both been to Wembley for Exeter, Luton, and Manure. And at the Spurs game in ‘97. The Enemy’s ‘we live and die in these towns’ is a spine-tingling addition and made the Manure game my best ever footballing day out.
I rate Mark Robins and subject to Coventry providing enough finance, then why not. We can all Come back. I remember watching my Team Burnley play Orient in 1987 needing both a win and other results going on our favour to stay in the football league. We’re now the wealthiest club in the championship and in position to get up to the Premier League. On another note I remember the famous free kick think it was Ernie Hunt back in the day for Coventry, still talked about by older end. Best wishes for the season (except against us) UTC
Getting relegated at Villa Park was literally the worse day of my life in football terms, oggie should off got his gloves on. Seeing match of the day that night with the: We Will be back" in the middle of what feeled like a wake. Remember lee hendrie froffing at the mouth when they got the winner. Ironically we were going for him in the mid noughties and on the lets all sing togerher website fans were kicking right of about it lol. Oggie retired at the top and it was only the Brilliant Hedman that kept him out the side at the end of his career.
Coventry have a weird way of starting the season poorly and then go on a run, so I think top 10 is definitely plausible, don’t know about the playoffs yet
Forest fan, remember Steve Ogrizovic well, very good keeper, watched him live many times in the 80's as a young lad. Great listening to former players but I gotta say Shilts was better than Clemence.
I am a Sunderland fan and I think Coventry are a very very inconsistent team and they could stay up in the PL, but what I struggle to understand is why S’land and Boro find it impossible to beat you (LDLDLD) is pattern so we are due a draw on Saturday, but why is it that Coventry cannot beat Preston? Do you see a changed style of play?
This was a huge honour for me as a life long sky blues fan to interview Oggy ⚽️

Coventry City have never and will never have a Goalkeeper as good as Steve Ogrizovic. He kept us in the 1st division / premier league on so many occasions.

Fantastic video

Remember Steve playing at Luton in Aug 1987 , on the plastic pitch! Steve was brilliant that night - we lost 0-1 to a Brian Kilcline pen!
Steve Ogrizovic will get a statue one day!
Thanks for the video mate
Takes me back to the good old days..
Great Interview Matt! Great coup to get Oggy on your channel. The Mighty Sky Blues will be in the Premier league this time next year 💯 🩵PUSB🩵

This was excellent Matt. Thank you so much. Sky blue army 💙💙💙
Wasn't the delay at Tottenham due to a burst water main en route to the stadium?
And also Oggy scored THAT goal
A good footballer and good cricket player as well
OGGY OGGY OGGY
Never watched Gavin and Stacey but an Oggy xmas cameo - maybe that changes! 😂
Getting relegated at Villa Park was literally the worse day of my life in football terms, oggie should off got his gloves on. Ah stop it Matt. We were nearly looking for M R,head two weeks ago some supporters. Its game by game ,I don't want to hold my breath 😮
Coventry have a weird way of starting the season poorly and then go on a run, so I think top 10 is definitely plausible, don’t know about the playoffs yet
Ha ha . You never seen him play . I watched him in F.A cup semi against Leeds. You could do with big Steve great keeper 👍
Oggy Sky Blue Legend PUSB
Be careful what you wish for. Seems like a good idea, but...
must get 1987 likes at least
Forest fan, remember Steve Ogrizovic well, very good keeper, watched him live many times in the 80's as a young lad.
Great listening to former players but I gotta say Shilts was better than Clemence.
Short answer no they won’t and as a Leicester fan we will be playing you next season in championship lol
If he was that good, you would have won more
Had their chance last year. Going backwards now ☹️
Hopefully tatts is watching this and might learn something given his comment of WHO the other day.
Day 10 of asking matt to make a video with ben or sophie on race for europe
