I agree, as a Vegas local, I like the idea of no glass roof (although I do love it) but I wish they would use a lighter color material on the inside roof to create a more open feel.
Also how much time does the average driver spend looking through the glass roof? Glass roofs are the worst way to throw money away on options: extra cost, significantly less headroom, and the greenhouse effect Second worst way to option out a car is big wheels which cost extra, have a negative effect on EV efficiency, and cost more to replace the tires.
Maybe in black, or color matched to the cars body paint I could live with it… otherwise I looks like my brand new car needed replacement wheels and I cheaped out lol.
Personally, I think the wheel should've been smaller with a thicker sidewall tire (would help with comfort as well). I think these 80s-style wheels look better when smaller and not oversized like these are.
I am seriously considering one in blue, I love the Batwing, Stormtrooper seats and group B rally wheels. I am just worried about the reliability, quality and safety due to Fords history. I would like more ground clearance, but hey! it can't be perfect? so I will check it out when I can get my hands on it.
Wait until you see a turtle icon on your dashboard. My Ford dealer spent 11 weeks to repair my Mach-E's dead batteries, resulting in a full refund from Ford.
They brought back the driver display animation and style that only has the speed in the middle. I can't wait for the update to bring that back to my Mustang Mach-E.
This looks good in That green color, BUT, White or Grabber blue are the colors to go... Maybe the vapor blue, or SIlver. But silver or WHite go best with white wheels & fog lights. Grabber & Green work too! Tempting option. Whats the Range on this?
THe possition of the Park is a valid point, However, if you buy this as a daily driver, it will become habit, you won't think abou tit, unless you have another car like a Kia EV6 which has the rotary shifter, but it works in a different way with amiddle park button, then twist one way to reverse, another way to drive, but unless you daily drive a car like that, and have Mach-E as family/weekend car (lets say, you take a rally for weekend fun) you'll be okay. Even then not a big issue.
What's the point of getting the extended range if only recommend to charge to 80%?! Also if the batter is going to degrade over time it'll eventually get to 80% anyway right? So why not just charge it fully and take advantage of the full range for years until it finally degrades that much. Maybe I'm missing something here?
Based on the Bronco Everglades, Paint those wheels matte black, with the black rally stripes on an erruption green, Keep the wing for me, BUt painted black wheels would FIt so good for outdoor car with green paint! I do think on a WHite or SIlver Mach E, white wheels fit! Would be SO EASY to paint wheels black, thoguh! I think I may be sold on this (I was looking at Premium AWD, though I wanted Magna suspension, and GT because a choice when Range was increased, dont' NEED performance pack if suspension is included, but... It is cheap. Rally, with higher suspension, Magna suspension (I have elderly parents who would benefit from that) and being a HUGE WOrld Rally Fan, this is TOTALLY inspired by Ford Focus RS WRC that competed in WOrld Rally Championship). I did like Roof, but I live in Utah (a desert), so I would have needed either a cover, or way to close it (ROne reason I got Ioniq 5 Limited, since you can close the roof, but it is nice to have when its not hot) There is a Reason you kept thinking of FOcus RS, though, It was based ont eh RS WRC car!
I hate the wheels too. Rally is not only dirt/gravel and chances are the majority of the Mach E Rallys will NEVER go on dirt roads. Personally, I would take inspiration from the Puma Rally1s as seen in tarmac setup.
Looks like Carnation to Fall City via 203 onto W 202 in the video. Used to drive/nap my kids when babies as we lived 15min away on the hill. I don't like the wing, but IDC really. Ford needs to price all Machs more competitively. Not nickel and dime us. Still wish they would change the center screen. Door frames are too small for taller drivers cause of where battery sits.
@@dylanfgarrison It's a 2.5 tonne car with 480 hp I'm happy to have more stopping power than less. I don't use the brakes all that often on my GT, but when you need them they work like a hot damn. You still need the discs for emergency stops.
If you have a full battery you can no longer use regenerative braking. So let's say you live on a mountain and are driving down into the valley you could start with a full battery and any energy used getting started could quickly be regenerated on the downhill. After that you need enough mechanical brakes to stay safe.
Confused about heat pump; description above states the Rally HAS a heat pump but video states that there is NO heat pump so that front trunk volume is preserved. Which is it?
Ford website says with AWD its 230mile range with smaller battery and 300 with larger battery. So if you only charge larger battery to 80% is it worth it?
As a day to day commuter to work, more than likely not worth the larger battery. I can only see the larger battery being helpful if you need that extra 70 miles for larger distances (especially if you know you need the distance).
I think there are other apples and oranges involved. I did a quick look but didn't see the kW of each battery type (old vs new). The new ones could be larger kW so %80 isn't as different. The new battery can also accept faster DC charging. It weighs more, is cheaper, does worse in the cold, but may last longer.. so, lots of factors to consider.
My Mach-E Premium Extended Range gave me 280-290 miles in the summer, but only 180~190 in the winter of Northern Alabama. Not sure about other colder areas in the winter.
Disagree on the GT Performance upgrade. We should not make paid software performance upgrades an ok thing. Hardware changes I understand but not locked behind a software paywall.
Exactly. That will probably happen in the 26 model years, so Ford (and the others) will continue to lose billions from lack of sales by prudent customers smart and patient enough to wait for NACS
The rally actually has different tire size than the GT. 235 width as opposed to 245 on the GT. Makes the car a little “looser” on the road according to reviewers.

Y’all are definitely disconnected from Rally. Those wheels have a legacy look to it. The old escorts, focus’, etc all had white wheels. This is by far my favorite trim and is well suited for Utah urban and back roads.
THe WING & WHeels are stright out of teh Legendary Ford Focus RS WRC (WOrld Rally Car) that competed in the FIA World Rally Championship. ON this car, NEVER charge extended range battery over 80%! its takes an extra hour plus, so get to 80 (and I've seen 10% to 80% in 35min IRL), so leave at 80 or before! You guys need to give at least EPA range on these cars. I don't think I even saw you (granted, all these car hasve a over 250, I think 270 on GT? Not sure what rally is and I could go to Ford's website or other palces to find, but you should give range.

If you live in a place where it get cold (or hot), think long and hard about any EV that does not have a heat pump. Ugly wheels can be swapped I guess if they bother you, but losing up to 1/2 your range on a (very) cold winter day, vs maybe 1/4 is a REAL deal breaker:-)

From about Chicago North (which includes all of Canada and Michigan and so on- PS, I live in Canada:-) Freezing Cold is a normal Winter condition. If I lived in California as our reviewer (full disclosure, I really like this sites reviews and opinions) not only could I consider a non-heat pump EV (Still probably would not buy) but I could even buy a RWD and be even more efficient!
I don't keep up with sales numbers but apparently they're selling a lot of them. And with Chevy only releasing the top trim (95k) of their EV Silverado first, they will continue to sell Lightnings as well. They might start making a profit on their EVs sooner than I thought. The EV Ram will prob be the big competitor.

The front discs on the Mach E are 15.5". The smallest rim they clear is 19".

This might win me over vs the EV6 I've been looking at to replace my Kia Stinger GT2 AWD.

~80% is recommended for daily charging, if you're taking a trip and need more range go ahead and charge it to full. -Travis

Decent looking EV but only one inch additional ground clearance for the Rally version, still too low for off-road.

Even without a heat pump the real world range loss isn’t 50% even at freezing. Snow on the road has a bigger impact than the temperature

Even at zero degrees I don’t lose half the range. The lowest I’ve had at zero is 183 miles out of 270.
