- Today for #WolfeRidgeWednesday we use the Wolfe Ridge 17 RS to split some birch and oak. No edits to the wood splitting, and no music.
The 17 RS is the lowest priced horizontal gas-engine powered machine we offer. With that said, it is still built to commercial duty specs, and ready for every day production.
The 17 RS comes standard with:
Honda GX270 9HP gas engine - recoil pull start
16GPM hydraulic pump
17 ton splitting force
24 inch stroke
6 second cycle time
8 inch beam
12 inch AR400 main wedge
4 way wedge included
*NOTE 4 way wedge height is mechanically adjusted and bolted into place
2 inch hitch ball coupler with removable drawbar
Front leveling jack and rear drop leg
The 17 RS includes EITHER OR:
Auto cycle valve
Log lift with 400lb capacity

Not a bad time. I can do a half cord by myself in about 1 hour stacked in the truck.

Looks like it has cooled down there. Still hot here this morning! I did a basket and had to take another shower for the day.

So somthing like 2 to 2.75 hours for a full cord. Depending on how much more packing of wood you do. as it gets farther from the machine.
Or a 2nd person is helping ect ect..
Yeah I think it would be twice as fast with a helper.
Plenty of power, even on the oak.
It is pretty impressive and fun to run!
If the table was just a 8"-12" longer. 2 complete pushes could be done with the ram without wood falling on the ground. It would stop all the wasted time wrestling 90% split wood out from in the wedge area. Folks looking for budget splitters are not looking to buy a conveyor also. Please extend table lenght...👍

If the table is longer it would dramatically increase the cost of shipping these machines. This is why we offer the extension separately. Thanks!
