Dick Cheney is possibly my most hated public official of all time. I cannot believe he is walking around free. There was a special on Amazon in the last two years that actually put him in a good light. I was appauled by the special and really appauled by the 5 comments (at that time) that praised the special. I gave it a 1 star and said what I thought. To my surprise they published it. I was really pissed and probably not really coherent but I called him out. Then I called the House Ethics Committee hotline and asked why they did nothing about Cheney's no bid contracts for Halliburtin, his lies about Iraq and more recently his oil wells (Genie oil) in the Golan Heights. No response of course.
I doubt that Cheney's objection to Detente was due to idealism, but rather rooted in the firm conviction that there's no easy money in the perception of peacetime. Defense spending becomes more efficient when taxpayers aren't as afraid of being attacked.
That would require either a personal economic stake in US military spending at the time, or some other reason to spend as much on the military as possible. Mind you, this business with Kissinger and Detente was long, long before Cheney's Halliburton days. So, let's assume you're right about Cheney's opposition to Detente: to what end does he seek this overblown military spending?
thank you for this discussion, and many thanks to Larry Wilkerson for sharing his knowledge and understanding. I intend to see the movie, Vice, and appreciate knowing more about him. I was quite aware of his powerful influence - control even - on U.S. presidents, but there is so much still be learned. And we must learn about him because he symbolises much that is still wrong and dangerous in the U.S. and military.
THIS is spectacular. In essence, it confirms and paints in the details of what -- in our hearts -- we already knew: the secret, Machiavellian power in American government, and as ruthless as sonuvabitch as we will ever see.
here’s the real questioning : how did a lineman from the least populated state ; shady academic background, get pulled into halibutton to begin with, make it to washington and poop boy to rumsfeld , and sprout inside the oval office like a spider in his web ? i mean 2 dwis in your own town ? defective heart ...
Someone with no real moral contemplations, scruples, may well seem very effective as administrator, as there is no conscience and they simply "do"... It does not mean that it is necessarily a good thing in toto. A fly does not ponder whether it is "morally defensible" to land in your soup, to the fly it is simply food, and it simply _does._
Yep. Cheney's interrogation techniques came directly from the 1938 Gestopo Handbook on the subject. You can get the victim to admit he was Lee Harvey Oswald and that he shot Jesus Christ, if you wanted. Very useful, if you were Cheney and directing the music on 9/11/2001.
It doesn't get any clearer than this. A group of people, with no conscience and therefore no shame, no empathy, no emotion, no love, hold the reins of power on planet earth.
Cheney was the brilliant guy who's corporation bought another with tons of asbestos liability (I think it was Montana) and then got into government to change the laws. All those poisoned towns and populations lost big time. Cheney rolled on to new disasters....
9/11 ,,,Never Forget,,,,,I won’t,,,,,,,,,I can’t , I was there , I grew up in LINDENHURST L.I. 5 minutes from where the F15s were built . I watched the cranes build the Twin Towers in ‘72 from a Brooklyn apt. , I sat on Madison Ave and 48th st. And witnessed the 1st Tower fall . I walked down to Ground Zero days later amongst the hundreds of burning candles and photos of victims, I cried .
When I saw in 2016 that one of the candidates in the Republican primaries was a pathological narcissist, I immediately thought of Dick Cheney and Donald Rumsfeld. I also thought of various dictators, but Cheney and Rumsfeld gave me a better idea of what might happen when a pathological narcissist is chosen as the leader of the United States. Fortunately, the damage has not been as big this time as it was during the Bush presidency. We are only two years into this presidency, though, and Trump has recently taken actions that seem very likely to have a destabilizing effect on the Middle East.
It is no coincidence that Dick Cheney became the de-facto President from 2001 to 2009, during the important time of the Cycle's Cross, convergent temporal paradoxes and the prospect of that '2012 event' in 2009. No-one will ever know.
COL (ret) Wilkerson is a tour de force. Another withering assessment that cuts directly to the core truth of the matter at hand. Thank you, again, sir. ALSO, thank you Paul Jay and TRNN. THIS type of stuff is your "sweet spot" in terms of where you add greatest value to the public discourse. Encore!
true, Cheney was not a neocon, because he does not believe that the goal of the foreign policy is to export values. accidentally, he agreed with neocons on some policies, but bot because he shared the same philosophical assumptions. he was an assertive nationalist who nevertheless confused realism with cynicism.
Dick Cheney was the GREATEST Vice President this country has EVER had ! Plagued with an idiot for president, this man stepped up and led this country in its most dire times !
D.Cheney = diabolical evil. For those who've watched the movie ghost, just picture the evil man near the end of the movie being dragged down to hell by imps and ghouls, that's Mr Cheney. ......and thats a man who got a replacement heart! .. holy hell.
Haven't seen the film "Vice" yet, but the trailer sure does make me wonder what kind of an insane and power hungry person he is. Even if this interview is 8 years old, it's on point! Thanks Jay and Larry
good to see color in your cheeks again son the universe is not quite done with you yet it would seem not the christmas miracle i was looking for mind you... but i will take it. for the sake of grace.
From what I have heard from this Video, Wilkerson has views that don't all match up to reality. Cheney is a good organizer but not as intelligent as George W. Bush and he didn't graduate from Yale until after he was elected president.

Proud of you keep on rockin!👍🏽❤️
Col. Wilkerson rules in my book.
"Bush has about as much qualifications to be President of the United States as Br'er Rabbit"
-_Larry Wilkerson_
Br'er Rabbit was good at tricking idiots. So maybe Larry is onto something...
Not many people know this but Cheney is actually a really good architect
I have never seen a more suitable name for a person like Cheney's.
George W was least qualified to be commander & chief until Trump! Good show. (Donate & share, people)
I prefer trump to any other president that's been in my life time. Least he's not starting wars.
@michael nola Well said.
Sandy That’s absurd! You must be very young or very, VERY old.
46 is doing well isnt he 🤣🤣🤣 the laughing stock of the world

Would the real 43rd President please stand up.

Excellent as always

Has anyone hacked Dick's heart device yet?

Please drop these all at once like a truth tidal wave.
that 80 years old source must be Brent Scowcroft.
Generals gather in their masses
OOOOh, this shoulld be GOOOD!
Are we supposed to be enlightened by Mr. Wilkerson's observations? Is there anything here we did not already know. Nothing here but softballs.
When I saw in 2016 that one of the candidates in the Republican primaries was a pathological narcissist, I immediately thought of Dick Cheney and Donald Rumsfeld. Hyper-nationalist? He might have been, but his actual politics had nothing to do with nationalism.
Larry: "I brought Cheney to my church for a surprise party and by golly his skin started to burn off!"
He's talking about George Schultz (re who warned him about Rumsfeld and Cheney)
Great interview, but 360p in 2018?
George W as qualified to be president as Br'er rabbit. Thats gold

As said at 11:46
Yes and if you've got Halliburton rebuilding all these war torn countries and all of these military basis you're getting filthy rich aren't you
Always good to hear from Col. Wilkerson.
Where are parts 2-4?
I saw another part yesterday, now it’s gone. I hadn’t watched it yet but censortube must have not liked something in there... (the truth probably).
Cheyney cha chinged with Haliburton.

I love you guys. But this image quality is something else. 😅

What a political horse. In deceit and cowardice. A viscous human part of a cabale that have never been up to good.
Judgement is waiting.
For sure.
Didn't Cheney play the Werewolf and the mummy? Evil bastard.
Haven't seen the film "Vice" yet, but the trailer sure does make me wonder what kind of an insane and power hungry person he is. Even if this interview is 8 years old, it's on point! Thanks Jay and Larry
Go see it. You won't regret it.
Just don’t mistake it for history.
This is still gatekeeper swill. Cheney was the architect of 9/11.
Am I wrong to compare Cheney to Lavrentiy Pavlovich Beria ?
Cheney was (is?) a gangsta.....
Even the gentlemen speaking should be viewed with a healthy skepticism
Damn imagine Is we had a close relationship with Russia like we do with Great Britain. Smh
WAR CRIMINALS
how do you get easily from part 2 to 3 etc...
good to see color in your cheeks again son
the universe is not quite done with you yet it would seem
not the christmas miracle i was looking for mind you... but i will take it.
for the sake of grace.
06: 20 important
GW was the least prepared President until Trump. Trump makes GW look good.
Don’t go bird hunting with Cheney
Richard Bruce?
Power Trip?
one of many blue eyed evils.
fascist, never meet a corporation he didn't like. i almost forgot chicken-hawk-in-chief. he had other priorities during nam.
