    I don't think I can just finger detangle. After a few washes of only finger detangling, my hair was getting really tangled up. Just didn't work for me. Was weird honestly

    Its basically a prepoo. This is how i wash my hair. I prepoo and detangle with a brush then twist. After im done prepoo i let it sit for max 30mins then wash it out (in twist) and after washing i use a conditioner while i shower so for 5-10mins max unravel my twist then rinse it out with cold water.
    Its super fast.

    I’ve been doing this for a while now after seeing Alikay Naturals’ CEO, she does this as well. It saves me time. I follow up with an oil rinse and a rinse out conditioner after shampooing. Sometimes I mix the oil with the conditioner to skip a step.

    I have tightly coiled 4c hair and I must use a brush or comb at some point in my wash day. I love the fact of only being in the shower once. Great video and that lipstick is on point! #naptural85ismybff

    Laila is my whole bae and is the reason I'm natural today. I used to deep condition first as well but had to switch it up due to my scalp. Neooowww I essentially wash my hair in the sink first, hit up my dc, detangle with it in my hair and then hop in the shower to rinse it out. I wanna try clay washes though

    I love Fushions of Cultures!!! Wouldn't a dc before shampooing be considered a pre poo?

    I use Keracare Thermal Wonder which is actually made to use in reverse, conditioner first then shampoo. Except you don't use any conditioner after. The shampoo doesn't strip your hair and I find that the grease that I use after is enough to detangle and hold me over for a week. I just use the 3 products in that manner and my hair feels stronger, breaks less and best of all scalp issues are gone. I believe just rinsing out conditioner was jacking up my hair and scalp. For me it must be shampooed out.

  • @TheNenaBrown
    @TheNenaBrown 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    I tried this same technique twice.
    The 1st time with the same deep conditioner (which I love!) & the 2nd time with the Carol's Daughter Coco Creme Quenching Deep Moisture mask (lovely too!).. & I didn't like it either time..
    Bc after shampooing, my hair didn't feel as moisturized.
    Deep conditioner isn't meant to be used first. Shampooing afterwards cleanses the conditioner from the hair & even moisturizing shampoos aren't meant to "condition" the hair...
    I also hate getting back into the shower, so I wash & deep condition & rinse that out in the sink!!
    TFS!! Now I'm off to watch more of your videos since this is my 1st time visiting your channel!! 🖤

    I completely agree with you on the finger detangling 😭 I tried so hard to make it work but I simply cannot rely on it solely! My hair is never REALLY detangled (my hair texture is very similar to yours, thick and 4C 😂)
    So now I finger detangle a bit first, and then I finish detangling with a brush to really smooth my hair and get all those shed hairs out 👌🏾
    Btw lovely video!! 🙌🏾💕😊 you have such beautiful hair

    I've been deep conditioning like this since I first saw Fusion of Cultures do it and I honestly probably won't go back. I love only being in the shower once ha..I just add a little more conditioner after shampooing and leave it in for 10min.

  • @jessicativane6813
    @jessicativane6813 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    You can perhaps try normal conditioning (3min) after shampooing, it worked for me and it is still efficient in terms of time not of costs lol

      @@thewritergrl Yea I do both, I don't deep condition all the time. I have tried the method that Roothie talked about, but instead of me finishing with shampoo, I finished with normal conditioning. And honestly speaking, I find that as long as you have a bomb conditioner, its all good, whether you deep condition or not... btw Im low porosity

    I enjoyed your video but I think for us 4c its more beneficial to dC after shampoo. With regards to your question on trying to adopt other people's routines I would like to say that there is a new growing channel on TH-cam with content made by a UK based Trichologist (Afope Atoyebi). Her moisturising method using film forming humectants (Plant gels) has completely changed the game for me. Her content is like no other and everything is science based always offering a new perspective. FYI I rarely ever copy any one's methods or fall into bandwagons. I encourage all naturals to watch her.

    Just in time: today is wash day. That said, I plan to do regular shampoo and rinse out conditioner afterwards.
    Having a conditioner as the last step is important because it helps counteract static and helps fill gaps in your cuticle, both of which help the hair to feel softer.

  • @UHNicolea

    Some steps call for another quick condition, either leave-in or rinse out, following the reverse wash and before leaving the shower.
