The two orchestra's sounded very well together, didn't they? The orchestra which was seated (except for the one gentleman in the back making those booming sounds) was marvelous and the other orchestra wrapped up in the body of a single individual was magnificent as well. Angelina is wonderful singing next to a guitar player, or a piano player, or a small band, or a full orchestra or even in a parking garage by herself getting ready to go somewhere. Listening to her is so mesmerizing it is impossible to catch everything she is doing with her instrument, a voice for the ages, and each time you listen to the same song you can pick up something you missed the time before. She is always so comfortable, so confident, because she is singing 'for us', not only to us. When she looks at the camera she looks right through it straight into our hearts. Many artists seek the same results but unless their feelings are genuine the audience doesn't feel it. The aura of love surrounding Angelina even when she is just walking into a room is so captivating many people begin to tear up just at the sight of her. And that soulfulness in her voice latches onto our hearts and she takes us, willingly, into her world when she begins to sing. Magic? To Angelina it's just being natural.

How many of today’s stars have all the qualities that Angelina has and can do everything she can do? Her amazing low register, her head voice, belting, vocal fry, her breathy voice, her vibrato, her emotion, her storytelling, her seamless transitions between her different techniques. And she has been able to do a lot of this since she was very young. It just keeps getting better and more refined There are a lot of very good and successful singers out there who can do a lot of this stuff, but how many can do all of this and to the level of Angelina? The unfortunate thing is a lot of music listeners and in particular younger listeners don’t pick up on this or it’s not as important to them as the song itself. What matters is the beat and a song that resonates with them. I think Angelina’s original music can resonate with an expanding audience who will eventually pick up on what an amazing vocalist she really is. If you go to her Vegas shows, the difference is 3 months 18 days. I AM tempted to ask you to react to her VERY most recent one, called "Bad Valentine", which she wrote together with Toby Gad, the man who wrote "All Of Me" by John Legend, "If I Were A Boy" made famous by Beyoncé, "Big Girls Don't Cry" by Fergie and "Skyscraper" by Demi Lovato, just to name a few. The two have also made a recording of "If I Were A Boy" which you should check out some time. But "Bad Valentine" is an original, and in it she shows you the range that she REALLY has if she wants to or needs to. Crazy good. The official recording of it will come in September I believe, but there is an extremely good live performance of it from May 16th, performed on an intimate stage in front of a few select people. James Thiel's edits of the Vegas show are really well put together. Solid audio and video quality considering the only footage available is from fans. Some edits are nothing short of amazing. And if you really want "the present", Thiel also has very high quality recording (as I understand it, it is an official recording he has permission to share) of "Bad Valentine", an original she made with Toby Gad. And then her channel has two versions of "If I Were a Boy", the church performance being the most interesting.

This was never a look at me moment, it was all about empathy for the plight of the Iranian woman who was the recipient of the peace prize. As for your next song why not try her very latest original "Bad Valentine" that she has co-written with Toby Gad (famous writer of some very very big songs). I love this version the arrangement, and it plays beautifully to the story of who she is giving tribute to but there’s nothing like Angelina and orchestra. I can’t wait for her to do something with a chorus. I think she could do something marvelous like with hallelujah the story behind your outfit, and her headband is in a longer video, butI love this version. Did she sing it the best? I was setting 3 rows behind Bobby Hatfield's Mother the first time he performed this song (Taping of the Andy Williams show in 1965). His Mother had never heard him perform live before and he was very nervous at first! For 50 years I did not think anyone would ever out do him on this song. Then in 2015 I saw and heard 9 year old Angelina sing a short version of the song on TV! I said then that one day she would do it better than Bobby! Last September I was at her show in Portsmouth NH when she did a very slowed down version. I knew from the end of the first line that she was about to do it better than anyone else ever had! Knowing in my mind and heart that she was doing my all time favorite song better than it had ever been performed, this 81 year old man cried all the way thru the performance! Then 3 months later she did this performance. and I still cannot decide which is better! I guess they are tied for the best, but she is the one who has done it the best!!!

Angelina met with, and performed before her two 17 years old twins, as they where there to recive the prize on their mothers behalf. They had not even met with their mother for almost a decade, and not even knowing when or even if they would meet with her. So this song of hearbreaking longing to meet with family and dear once was done so beautifully and perfect as the emotional song it was originally ment to be. What kind of chops does it take to do this live-on the Nobel stage. Angelina has always been humble, but she knows and has confidence in what she can do. Incredible range, incredible emotion. In 1954, Alex North was contracted to compose the score for the prison film Unchained (released in 1955). North had a melody he had written in the 1930s and composed and recorded the score when he was asked to write a song based upon the movie's theme. North asked Hy Zaret to write the lyrics. After first refusing, Zaret and North together wrote, "Unchained Melody. Zaret refused the producer's request to include the word "unchained" in his lyrics. The song eventually became known as the "Unchained Melody" even though the song does not actually include the word "unchained". Instead, Zaret chose to focus on someone who pines for a lover he has not seen in a "long, lonely time". The film centered on a man who contemplates either escaping from prison to live life on the run, or completing his sentence and returning to his wife and family. So indeed this song fits along with Narges being in prison and her two children, and the rest of the people who embrace freedom, calling for her release. Her final performance of Somewhere Over the Rainbow will blow your socks off, in fact any of her performances will. I believe she hits an F#5 in Somewhere over the rainbow but it’s her tone/timbre that gives me goosebumps. Like Angelina, she takes a classic and completely puts her own spin on it.

Angelina and the pianist worked out what she wanted. . She sang and the pianist picked up the melody. She corrected him over and over to get things down. Them the writers went and wrote things out. Then practice and rehearsal came. She knows what she wanted. And with understanding and cooperation. They got it done

The two orchestra's sounded very well together, didn't they? The orchestra which was seated (except for the one gentleman in the back making those booming sounds) was marvelous and the other orchestra wrapped up in the body of a single individual was magnificent as well. Angelina is wonderful singing next to a guitar player, or a piano player, or a small band, or a full orchestra or even in a parking garage by herself getting ready to go somewhere. Listening to her is so mesmerizing it is impossible to catch everything she is doing with her instrument, a voice for the ages, and each time you listen to the same song you can pick up something you missed the time before. She is always so comfortable, so confident, because she is singing 'for us', not only to us. When she looks at the camera she looks right through it straight into our hearts. Many artists seek the same results but unless their feelings are genuine the audience doesn't feel it. The aura of love surrounding Angelina even when she is just walking into a room is so captivating many people begin to tear up just at the sight of her. And that soulfulness in her voice latches onto our hearts and she takes us, willingly, into her world when she begins to sing. Magic? To Angelina it's just being natural.

How many of today’s stars have all the qualities that Angelina has and can do everything she can do? Her amazing low register, her head voice, belting, vocal fry, her breathy voice, her vibrato, her emotion, her storytelling, her seamless transitions between her different techniques. And she has been able to do a lot of this since she was very young. It just keeps getting better and more refined There are a lot of very good and successful singers out there who can do a lot of this stuff, but how many can do all of this and to the level of Angelina? The unfortunate thing is a lot of music listeners and in particular younger listeners don’t pick up on this or it’s not as important to them as the song itself. What matters is the beat and a song that resonates with them. I think Angelina’s original music can resonate with an expanding audience who will eventually pick up on what an amazing vocalist she really is. That could only happen if she is out there and new potential fans hear her and see her. Will she be a big star? If you go to her Vegas shows, the difference is 3 months 18 days. I AM tempted to ask you to react to her VERY most recent one, called "Bad Valentine", which she wrote together with Toby Gad, the man who wrote "All Of Me" by John Legend, "If I Were A Boy" made famous by Beyoncé, "Big Girls Don't Cry" by Fergie and "Skyscraper" by Demi Lovato, just to name a few. The two have also made a recording of "If I Were A Boy" which you should check out some time. But "Bad Valentine" is an original, and in it she shows you the range that she REALLY has if she wants to or needs to. Crazy good. The official recording of it will come in September I believe, but there is an extremely good live performance of it from May 16th, performed on an intimate stage in front of a few select people. And if you really want "the present", Thiel also has very high quality recording (as I understand it, it is an official recording he has permission to share) of "Bad Valentine", an original she made with Toby Gad. And then her channel has two versions of "If I Were a Boy", the church performance being the most interesting.

Did she sing it the best? I was setting 3 rows behind Bobby Hatfield's Mother the first time he performed this song (Taping of the Andy Williams show in 1965). His Mother had never heard him perform live before and he was very nervous at first! For 50 years I did not think anyone would ever out do him on this song. Then in 2015 I saw and heard 9 year old Angelina sing a short version of the song on TV! I said then that one day she would do it better than Bobby! Last September I was at her show in Portsmouth NH when she did a very slowed down version. I knew from the end of the first line that she was about to do it better than anyone else ever had! Knowing in my mind and heart that she was doing my all time favorite song better than it had ever been performed, this 81 year old man cried all the way thru the performance! Then 3 months later she did this performance. and I still cannot decide which is better! I guess they are tied for the best, but she is the one who has done it the best!!!

They had not even met with their mother for almost a decade, and not even knowing when or even if they would meet with her. Michael, please excuse me for quoting from another reactor, this section from Andy Schnell, that relates the honor that Angelina had to perform at this Nobel Peace Prize Presentation last December in Oslo. Boudy, thanks for your wonderful reaction to this beautiful, touching, respectful performance by Angelina Jordan. Boudy, I greatly respect your commentary about the choices Angelina made for this performance. As always, it is about the song and the occasion, for Angelina.
I thought "Unchained Melody" was an odd choice for this event, but have since learned the history of the song. More on that later.
Certainly, Angelina was thrilled to be performing back in her home country of Norway, where she is a national treasure, but this performance goes way beyond that honor. She first performed at the Save the Children event at the 2014 Peace Prize event, when she was 8 years old.
Narges Mohammadi was this years' recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize. Narges, is currently on a hunger strike while imprisoned in Iran, for being an activist for women's rights. Her two children spoke on her behalf at this event. Most of the performers were Iranian.
We know Angelina's grandmother, Mery Zamani, grew up in Iran and was a prodigy for painting and poetry. We can imagine the conversations Mery had with Angelina about Narges. This performance had to be extremely meaningful to Angelina and her family. I hope all the angels will spread the story of Narges and her mission, with the hope for change.
In 1954, Alex North was contracted to compose the score for the prison film Unchained (released in 1955). North had a melody he had written in the 1930s and composed and recorded the score when he was asked to write a song based upon the movie's theme. North asked Hy Zaret to write the lyrics. After first refusing, Zaret and North together wrote, "Unchained Melody. Zaret refused the producer's request to include the word "unchained" in his lyrics. The song eventually became known as the "Unchained Melody" even though the song does not actually include the word "unchained". Instead, Zaret chose to focus on someone who pines for a lover he has not seen in a "long, lonely time".
The film centered on a man who contemplates either escaping from prison to live life on the run, or completing his sentence and returning to his wife and family. So indeed this song fits along with Narges being in prison and her two children, and the rest of the people who embrace freedom, calling for her release.
To continue where Andy left off, It has now been 10 years since Narges has seen her twin 18-year-old children or her husband. The twins spoke immediately before Angelina sang. The KORK Orchestra, is considered one of the ten best in the world.

Mike on another note, excuse the pun.. the world has found their next superstar.. her name is Sydnie Christmas and she won Britains Got Talent this year. Her final performance of Somewhere Over the Rainbow will blow your socks off, in fact any of her performances will. I believe she hits an F#5 in Somewhere over the rainbow but it’s her tone/timbre that gives me goosebumps. Like Angelina, she takes a classic and completely puts her own spin on it.

James Thiel has the best Las Vegas videos of Angelina on his channel. Highly recommend to go to his channel. Doesn’t matter which one from the concert you react to. They were both amazing shows. James also has her latest collaboration videos with Multi Grammy Award winning songwriter Toby Gad. One of those songs is an original “Bad Valentine”. I believe that duo is going to make her a household name in the very near future.

For Vegas use James Thiel and BigAngieFan channels. My preference is "When We Were Young" but there are many outstanding moments in that concert. She introduced a new original as well. I would do at least a couple as she is so versatile it is difficult to judge on one song. Angelina posted on her social media a thank you to the orchestra for trusting her with this arrangement. I'm sure you are correct in that this is a collaboration and there is a bts video where they are working it out on a piano.
Angelina and the pianist worked out what she wanted. . She sang and the pianist picked up the melody. She corrected him over and over to get things down. Them the writers went and wrote things out. Then practice and rehearsal came. She knows what she wanted. And with understanding and cooperation. They got it done
