Always enjoy these. The HL is going to be the answer for people who want distance AND some stopping power (at least more than the standard model). I'll bet the carry distance stays almost the same, while it is pretty obvious that launch will be higher and descent angle steeper. Just like for many people the Hot Metal HL was better than the standard Hot Metal. Thanks for doing these.

HL video drops on Wednesday morning. Thanks for watching!

It looks like it goes far but it also looks like there is a decent amount of drop off if you don't hit the center?

Do you have plans to do any DTC brands? I'd be very interested to see how Maltby's TS1-IM, TS4, or TS3's stack up against the competition. Thanks for everything you guys do!

We will test everything we can. We always start with what is available to us and in the most demand and if we get the chance to do more niche products we will. This is all for the viewers. Thanks for watching.

I'm sure you have plenty of clubs to test already (I'm looking forward to seeing the Mizuno 241, 243, and 245s), buy I would love to see a test where you take the same club and test it at stock, bent 2* strong, and 2* weak. I'm curious how much it changes spinloft, stopping power, distance, etc.

At this point isn’t it just a 6 iron at 28 degree that’s not helping the 4 wedges you now need and long irons will bunch together

What balls are you using with this and every test?
Spin rate with a pro v should be more. Making it stop faster.

We use new Pro V 1's for every test.

you should really compare yards per degree of loft, bend your clubs to the same loft to make it a fare comparison otherwise who cares, I can give you a 20 degree 7 iron and you will say its the longest.

This is off the shelf though. Not everyone can afford custom fitted clubs. There’s almost infinite possibilities with lie, loft, shaft and club head in regards to dispersion and ball flight and spin.

I am so confused about these robot test results because the commentary doesn’t seem to match the test results … and there seems to be two primary patterns of outcomes, a relative tight dispersion and a dispersion that varies widely front to back (20-30 yards) with the strong lofted supposedly game improvement irons. To me the test results show nobody should play game improvement irons because the dispersion front to back varies too much to the point you have no idea how far any one swing will go? When it’s hit on the toe with a players iron distance and dispersion is much more predictable … what am I missing? It all seems flipped, as game improvement irons have the big mishit drop offs or the perfectly hit flyer and the players irons Ping i230 cobra king tour titleist 100 etc have a tight dispersion with less dispersion on mishits? Perhaps they didn’t setup bad enough mishits?

Here is a video explaining how we test on our robot: th-cam.com/video/1rXBfvsstKM/w-d-xo.html
What we are seeing (as you are seeing) is forgiveness is not just about the graphs.
We have begun to measure every physical parameter of clubs that we can, and intend to start including these attributes into the equation and into our content.
One example is that we did start with miss hits further off center with blades, but with many models, the blade length meant this shot hit the hosel and provided a bad test. Therefore blade length alone allows for a common shot for a high handicapper to be stuck on the face and not the hosel.
This is an example that the robot test is helpful but we are also going to provide more evidence to help people make better purchases.
That is why our channel exists. We care about the data we provide and will support it with as much evidence as we can to help people understand what golf clubs can do to help them play better golf.
