    Any chance when you can get hold of the 120 PS DCT version? I drive one in Singapore and it is quite a sweet little car, with plenty of power for most overtaking moves. Kia declared a 0-100 time of 10,6 seconds for the 120 PS DCT Stonic but my butt feeling shows that it could be a second or so faster.
    I agree with the comments here, the fuel consumption is a little on the high side for a 1,0 3-Cylinder. A 30 minute drive with 90% highway smooth driving and not exceeding 95 km/h gets me 5,3 L/100 km with the official specs declaring 5,4 L/100 km COMBINED.

    I've been driving EV since 2015, now driving Volkswagen ID.3 with 77 Kwh battery, had enough of it all, high depreciation, high cost to buy, electricity costs 3 times what it did in 2015, public DC chargers cost a lot of money and charging is inconvenient and slow and the infrastructure is poor.
    The VW id.3 for a 41 K car ( Ireland price ) is very bad, the Stonic looks a lot better, I hate everything controlled by the touch screen, it's dangerous and infuriating, Shame on VW for designing such shit. Anyway I'm going back to normal petrol car.
    Just curious, is 100 HP enough for this car ?
    Shame Kia don't make LPG cars.

    • @TESTDRIVEFREAK
      @TESTDRIVEFREAK  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      100 hp is enough for this car. However that will never make it fast. It is not meant for racing however. Most people will be fine with 100 HP in this vehicle. We do personally advise to buy more powerful bigger engines and automatic transmission though because in most cases it can make a car much more smooth and luxurious feeling. Some bigger engines also use the same or less fuel economy than turbocharged small engines. Especially at higher speeds.

    • @o00scorpion00o
      @o00scorpion00o 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      There is only 1.0L turbo available in Ireland, I'd rather the manual to be honest, I miss changing gear after 9 years driving EV + Prius + Auto diesel Audi A4 which was CVT same as prius and hated those transmissions.
      Dual clutch is way better of course but I find all autos are better suited to higher power engines or they want to change gear too often due to the mapping because you press harder on the throttle it thinks it should drop a gear when you want it to hold the gear.
      But the Stonic starts at 24,400 Euros and the DCT is 28,200 so I wouldn't pay that much extra to be honest.
      Is there even a bigger engine available in the Stonic ?

      @@TESTDRIVEFREAK Thanks for the info, wow, only the 1.0 Turbo is available here, no diesel, and strangely enough no 1.2 84 Hp, normally Ireland would have got the bottom of the range engines due to the tax.
      The 120 hp would have been sweet, however, if I went to the dealer they might actually tell me the 120 is available but probably not but worth a try.
      The Irish market is extremely small for cars so what some dealers do is they bulk buy the more popular engine and spec cars having better option to sell them.

    • @o00scorpion00o

      @@TESTDRIVEFREAK I test drive this car today, same 1.0L 3 cylinder engine, more than enough power, 3.5 L/100 km was pretty amazing with a new tight engine over 50 Kms. I wasn't going over 100 Km/hr but this is better than my old Prius......
      This is the thing I don't get with hybrids ? if these engines are so good why bother with the complexity and big increase in price to the buyer ?
      The only thing hybrids offer is automatic, if you want that and maybe more power from the motor but honestly I was very impressed and it's very good Kia still make a normal simple honest car.
      The interior was nice, and nice analogue instrument cluster, nice easy to use climate controls but would have been nice to see dedicated radio controls. Still, I found it much nicer then my VW ID3 electric car, the Stonic is much lighter and you can immediately feel this on the road.
      One of the worst thins about my VW id.3 is the infotainment, there are no knobs, buttons and everything is done in menus on the touch screen and it drives me mad.
      Unfortunately the Kia dealer did not want to trade my EV so gave me a low 15,000 Euro trade in value, the car cost 41,000 new with government subsidies. VW offer me low 20s on a brand new EV.
      So depreciation is 1 reason I go back to petrol, the other reason range and recharge times, and the other, it was real fun driving a petrol manual car again !!!!!
      But the Stonic was very impressive !
