    I like how this movie treats maturity. Giles is easily the spoiled brat who believes himself the sane adult yet sucks the soul and fun out of good hardworking people like Christopher Robin, who himself is likewise struggling with his maturity because of his own horrific experiences.
    One of the major takeaways of this movie, I feel, is that maturity and peace of mind come from accepting and reaccepting what you enjoyed as a child, not rejecting it. Especially when your life is difficult, reconnecting with the things that made life fun and happy can save you. It's not easy, and sometimes, what used to give you fun may not anymore, but it doesn't hurt to retry them again.
    Giles is a woozle specifically because he's a soul-sucking bastard. He steals the honey, the sweetness, out of everyone's lives just so HE can that sweetness for himself.

    At the end of the film, Christopher Robin saves the company by suggesting the idea of giving employees paid vacation in order to encourage them to buy more luggage. The first American businessman to give his employees both Saturday AND Sunday off of work was Henry Ford, and he only did it so that they would drive more.

      Giles is definitely a Woozle. Because Woozles steal honey. And what is honey if not sweetness. And people like Giles are the kind that steal the sweetness from the lives of others just so they can enjoy it for themselves, since he has Christopher Robin and the other employees do all the work, denying them time with their family and friends, while he goes off playing golf yet taking all the credit

    Another interesting touch.
    Giles calls Robin and the other workers "hoi polloi". That is a VERY insulting term to refer to the common folk, worse than rabble. It's calling them the equivalent of crap. His true colors were already showing there and then, that he doesn't give a rat's ass about everyone beneath him, that he DOES see them as slave labor at worst.
    And there was a quick cut away to another board member looking absolutely offended by what Giles was pompously saying, which is also a nice touch. It shows that Giles was pretty much alone in being the stuck-up elitist in that room, probably building.

    • @MikeWoodall
      @MikeWoodall 2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      You are quite right. To add to what you said, the term "hoi polloi" is usually used by high society class characters to insult "lower class" people. Basically saying "we are high and sophisticated and you don't know crap about life"
