      I know I when I was growing up in the 90s I was born in 85 and I was a big Shawn Michaels fan. Obviously I went to wrestlemania 12 all that stuff in Anaheim. I was a Bret Harte fan of Ramon fan Kurt Henning kind of was overshadowed by those guys, I go back and watch all of Kurt Henning’s promos and vignettes today or in this time. And he is so entertaining I don’t know where he came from like or where he was at that time I remember seeing him as a heel, but he didn’t get enough push in the mid-90s.

I recently turned 60 and grew up in MA and Every Saturday after candlepin bowling at noon me and my brother faithfully watched wrestling back when Joe McHugh was the announcer and Greg's Dad Johnny was wrestling along with All the old greats like Johnny Rodz, Domenic Dinucci, Tony Garea and Larry Zbyszko, Mr. Fuji, Superstar Billy Graham, Haystacks, Bruno, Gorilla, Killer K, Iron Sheik when he was "Great Hossein Arab" with the 75lb Persian Clubs and even the fabulous Moolah! I could go on and on. We saw Greg right from the beginning and both me and my brother practiced and learned the figure 4. In the beginning we actually thought he broke Chief Jay's leg in half until our friends father set us straight on what the deal was. I'm having so many memories thanks to The HAMMER 🔨 GREAT STUFF!!! " though he was a heel pretty boy Larry Henning was always a favorite of mine. His face turn was probably the slickest and most efficient I've ever seen, going from being hated to being loved in about 3 minutes. At a live event in the 80s I saw him in what I believe was his very last match. He was tagging with Kurt against the Erwin Brothers in a fast-paced and rugged match. I was up close and saw Larry bail from the ring and everything about him, his face and his body language, said I'm too old for this crap. When The Wrestler Movie came out I heard that movie was about Greg The Hammer Valentine???? Why seems like he saved a lot of his $$$ lives in a great place in Vegas and just wrestles when he wants. Maybe its because he was still wrestling in gyms and stuff but it seems now it wasnt for the $$ its because he loves the business and putting smiles on faces!

    Even Hogan said that everybody checked their egos at the door when Curt was in the building, because NOBODY was better. That's HOGAN, the biggest ego around saying that.

    All those years in the WWF and all Vince the Dick put on Curt was 1 title round with the intercontinental belt, this man was a World Heavy Weight Champ in the old AWA

    • @jonathanturbide2232
      @jonathanturbide2232 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      First of all, Curt held the Intercontinental championship TWICE so you clearly have no idea what you're talking about. Secondly, he was the longest reigning IC champion of the 90's. Thirdly, sure he won the AWA championship in 87, but that was when the AWA was dying and was no longer seen as an important promotion. His run was ok, but he had no one to work with as the AWA roster was really bad in 87-88. In the AWA he was their best guy, but the WWF was so packed with main-event talent that he was just one of many great great workers there. Him being given the IC title twice was a huge vote of confidence from Vince, that meant he saw Curt as the best worker in the promotion. In the late 80's to early 90's the WWF title was given to the most marketable babyface (Hogan, Savage, Hogan again, Warrior) and Curt just didn't fit that role, so his WWF run was really solid and far bigger than anything he did as AWA champion.
