I think Joe Cocchi is one of the most unique and creative guitarists in metal today, his style is very recognizable and innovative. Very underappreciated and underrated, in my humble opinion at least. Technical, memorable, groovy, heavy, fun, all at the same time.
As a guitarist who grew up in the nu metal phase, yes. Allot of this generation have made great new sounds and styles. It's still not on the radio but yeah guys like him, mark Holcomb (sorry Misha), Tosin, plenty I can't name have done great things....WTR has stayed chopping up these cool wizard riffs and you summed him up we'll.
1000% this style stands alone and it's why Within the Ruins is still in my top bands of all time. You have to also remember how djent took over and first it was 8 strings, then 9 strings. When these guitars came out, I was seeking metal bands who used ALL of the strings to get a better idea of how how to use these new low notes. But I have been jamming Within the Ruins since the MySpace days, they have perfectly integrated their style with the extended low range, it's ear candy to me all day! Haha I love it. And it's not just the writing, it's the tones of every instrument, even today, it's so clear !. I'm also not sure if they use 9 strings, he may have just mastered the whammy DT pedal. I have one and had some songs with it. It can extend your range far lower or higher with a drop d 6 string guitar than any extended range guitar. The main reason people didn't use them in the beginning is because it messed with your guitar tone for some reason. But he may have solved the problem. Because the low notes on their songs are soo clear and full and heavy! It's inspiring every time.
Damn, this is sick. This song is so "Elite" album style, which is a good thing. Looks like they've got their formula set, can't wait to hear the rest \m/
You got to take your hat off for these guys, never ever have I been disapopointed, they keep coming with new tunes out and every one sounds just as good as the last one, bravo!
Within the ruins? more like WITHIN THE MIDI No really, Joe Cocchi is god tier, and you can hear that perfect harmonizing since he's doing that as well as leads, of course on different tracks, but still. His technique is just a whole other level
You guys are too fucking talented to ever make it big. And while that makes me bummed out because you deserve all the success in the world, I am so damn happy that you have not sold out nor watered down your style after all these years. ALL HAIL THAT PATENTED GUITAR TONE!
Honestly I'm about 100,000 of these views. This song does everything from helping me get over a shit break-up to working out to having pile-driver sex with strange woman. Even when I'm low it lifts me up enough to get back to reality. Song or the century for me. Thanks within the ruins.
The chorus in this song is just pure bliss. Everything about it is perfect. I don't think any other chorus in any other death metal song can even come close. I just have no words. If only you could see my face as I listened.
The precision of the musicians is developing so much as well. Whether you think of it as muddy or not, it's clean mud. The guitar is very on point, even when you're not quite sure what he's doing for the sound. I know a lot of old fans don't like it, but i think of this as music for musicians.
This song never fails to get a rise out of me. This is the most powerful and emotive WTR song to me, it's perfect. Even some of my friends who don't do metal like this song.
One the main reasons why I enjoy WTR is because they really established there own sound and they continue to evolve with it, I can't really think of any Technical bands doing what WTR are doing.
Great album I really liked all the songs the instruments and vocals well done, you guys are number one in charts right now and one of the best albums of the year no doubt(;
I hate how people act like this is the "Elite" sound Within the ruins have always had this style and fans that listened to them since at least creatures would know that. Elite and this new one are just extremely well produced, and within the ruins themselves are doing the best to innovate on their own sound. which they've had for the longest time, before a lot of big name bands today.
its good to hear a band performing as solid as they have always done, plus keeping it fresh and maintaining their own sound. as knights of the abyss used to say, this is "straight riffage"
for all of those who say this sucks i would love to see anyone of you try to shred like this or even remotely come close to play these drum parts. this shit is so good and its original and is different from most all other death core bands
Except that's not how a consumer works. This is awesome and the whole album is great, but if I want to call this the biggest shitstorm of the century, I can and I don't have to make something better to be able to say that. It doesn't work that way.
It makes me so happy that WTR are still topping their previous work, and not just going mainstream. Cannot wait till this album drops. Amazing song btw.
just saw lorna shore and within the ruins last night as well as 3 local bands, one happened to by my friends band haha! So cool, i was so drunk i had the courage to randomly go up to tim and shake his hand. An experience of a lifetime for sure.
That is a complete work of ART, cant believe its the same band, they've grown soo much from their first few albums and I am soo excited for preorders and merch. KEEP THIS SHIT UP GUYS YOUR FUCKING AWESOME!!!!!
The mixdown on this track tho. Way better than the majority of metal bands these days, where you can't hear anything but drums and guitar. proper tight playing as well
Invade will always be their favorite album for me, that and creature. just just replaced some chugs/actual riffage with djent, which I've never gotten into but I still love elite and this and will continue to support
This album BROKE the MONOTONY of MODERN METAL and gave me something I enjoy listening too EVERY TIME I come back to it. THATS WHAT GOOD MUSIC IS YA FUCK NUTS!
Didn't mention the lyrics at 1:58 ,,get out! Get out of my head!" and I also just realised it after listening this masterpiece dozens of times. Btw - does anyone know what the song is really about? I've read some comments but I couldn't figure it out yet.
Been listening to stuff like this,... ATB,...Kublai Khan and Meshuggah for a good while now. Recently beginning a spiritual journey/ awakening or however the fuck you wanna perceive it,I've noticed these bands and others like Gojira or Hatebreed all have incredibly inspirational meaning hiding within the lyrics. Maybe it's obvious as,... just never paid much attention before.

@@ekojar3047 nah, Joe is known for playing baritone 6s and 7s tuned even lower, this one is in Drop F with a low C1
Still Slaps harddd
Honestly this is one of the best songs of this genre I've heard in a while. What a fantastic chorus as well.
Great song, within the ruins have such crisp production. sick
"Fearing what they don't understand, we are evolution !"
Just perfect guys !
We are gods!!!!
In the Top 5 best metal bands right now. Creative, innovated and extremely tight live. Fan for Life!!
Please don't change. Ever. I can't get enough of this stuff.
Damn, this is sick. This song is so "Elite" album style, which is a good thing. Looks like they've got their formula set, can't wait to hear the rest \m/
I'm still in love with Elite and definitely think it was their best album to date, so I'm completely okay with an "Elite 2.0"
xWattie831x My thoughts exactly man!
fucking chills.....love it
Rico loves TH-cam.
is it talking about Magneto or Rambo or The X-Men??
The production on this is fucking flawless, it sounds so clean and just perfect, holy shit.
You got to take your hat off for these guys, never ever have I been disapopointed, they keep coming with new tunes out and every one sounds just as good as the last one, bravo!
play this at my wedding. It's beautiful.

Same WTR, new songs. Just how i like it \m/

basado on the first part....cringisimo on the second part. this is basically dubstep with some guy screeching like a woman for the rest.
You guys are too fucking talented to ever make it big. And while that makes me bummed out because you deserve all the success in the world, I am so damn happy that you have not sold out nor watered down your style after all these years.

Sometimes abandoned treasures are found within the Ruins.....
@@sirvaliantvillianjr5403 me they sold out now so

Adrian Dąbrowski Hell yeah.
3:45 is why i love this band
Awwww, I didn't want it to end! I'm definitely going to buy this album!
Definitely, I love every song and every album of this band.
Finally some good vocal patterns, now I really enjoying them (:

Resort Madara CUZ IT FEELS GEWD
I don't think that word means what you think it means
this isnt death metal you fuckin idiot
I don’t think 90% of the audience understands the meaning of the words coming out his mouth but I stand with WTR and the message ❤🤙🏽
Guys, I can't stop repeating this song...

That arrangement is next level. Never heard of this band. Fucking perfect
never heard of this band.. but this is some disgustingly good production every band could use this

Seen these guys live yesterday at Summer Slaughter in Mesa! They set the bar high for the circle pit during this song. Fucking amazing.
"3:58 - 4:15"
The best part.
Great album I really liked all the songs the instruments and vocals well done, you guys are number one in charts right now and one of the best albums of the year no doubt(;

I hate how people act like this is the "Elite" sound

ok fair enough but most people just bash them just to say they are no good or that they just suck
Most people cant play a slipknot song or come up with a decent rap beat but that doesnt mean that slipknot and rap and general are amazing...
Digital Nemesis in general* lol
To be fair, those drum parts aren't really complex...
wtf, this is so good, thank you guys so much! Your are constantly evolving, love it! :-)
Yes.!!....Gotta love a band with its own sound.
Get to go see them in two days!!! I'm so pumped!!!!!
this is very within the ruins, which is obviously a plus. intro was dope.
I love the strong bass in the background
It makes me so happy that WTR are still topping their previous work, and not just going mainstream. Cannot wait till this album drops. Amazing song btw.
