@@vortex_711 They get dragged out to the ocean via strong sneaky waves that appear without any notice. Then they drown. People almost always underestimate the danger.
I just returned from Iceland. Everything was impressive. But I must say Black Sand Beach was at the top of the list of places we visited. Haunting, serene, almost otherworldly. The sand looks like little diamonds. Its a sight to be seen just before you hit the town of Vik.
A large part of the beauty of this place comes from the light. It's so far north that the light slants in at a low angle and always looks moody and strange. That along with the terrifying reputation of this beach as a place where the unsuspecting have been swept out by sneaker waves and drowned, all make this an eerie place
@@handlin7333 I don’t believe they’re racist but it’s different because there are no black people in Iceland only a few, it’s the same thing as you going to an African Country being white you’ll probably receive some different looks
I love how this video of this particular beach , showcases the beauty of the land. And not just silly tourists. With beauty like that, the people walking along the beach (not the water's edge) makes so much more sense.
Absolutely stunning video and music choice. If only you would not have shown your face at the end of the video, it would have added a lot mystery to the fact. Either way, added this beach on my bucket list for photography. See you in 2022 Iceland...!
I was lucky enough to be here just a few weeks ago too... I took plenty of photos/film, but it was hard to capture the harsh beauty of the places. Definitely one that has to be seen in person! But this video captures the mood of the place so well...
At 1:30 - I immediately recognized the entrance to the GOT Dragonstone cave. I looked it up to verify, because I did not know where the cave was filmed. The white surf and black sand - wow!
Looks amazing!! Could take some very beautiful pictures there!! But also looks very scary and eerie, especially when it's getting darker. Good place to visit with your lover!!
The sand on beaces in some parts of Indonesia are also black. One i've been to was in Yogyakarta. The weather was so cloudy, it was about to storm. The waves were pulling my feet into the sea. It was scary, but felt so amazing at the same time.
Gosh that looks so much like Piano Beach (Karekare) where Crowded House recorded their album in NZ even the pointed rock. It is an iron beach and black too.
you can't stay long as the waves are too unpredictable. People die here all the time because they ignore the warning signs. Once they drag you out to see you are a goner
Solitude? I absolutely agree, this Place Looks Like a Kind of heaven, but have you Seen how many people are there? I would Love to See this, but I won't expect to be alone... To big the danger of disapointment
I hired a car in Iceland on August 2019 and drove past black sands beach. Driving through Iceland is about the closest one could get to driving across land during the Jurassic age.
The contrast of the white foam and the black sand is magical 😍
What a view ! i need to go there before i die , having a walk there while listening to interstellar cover is a dream for me !
@I I Thank you !
Several people have died on that beach, as it can be very dangerous, so be careful if you do.

Nicely filmed and put together
If Earth was a video game map, this would be the out of bounds area (unless you have a boat or an aircraft)
This touches me on all spiritual levels.

Lanzarote (Canary islands) is a black sand island aswell, volcanic
Hi! What’s the name of the song? It’s also exceptional.

what causes the sand to be black?
Lava. Iceland is a volcanic island.
Wow, it looks much much colder than our tropical beach.

I wanna go here. Where in Iceland would I fly and stay??
Fly to Reykjavik. Then take a tour or hire a car. Beach is near Vik, south Iceland
why is it black though ? i guess something with vulcanic stone ?
Reynisfjara or as I like to call it East Watch by the Sea

Does it really look like this ? Or is it kinda of edited?
What is the reason for black sand there ?
Is it a result of volcanic eruption ?
That's right! it's sand made from volcanic rock.
