👍🏼👍🏼 Wow I was looking for new Knitting podcasts and stumbled across your channel. What a gem it is! Thank you for sharing your beautiful knitting journey as well as the lovely country side. I am a new widow at 50 and need company in my alone time, what absolute joy I have experienced with you today 💜
I always enjoy watching and listening to you both on Sunday as I sew away on shop bags. I do more stopping and watching then I do sewing, which is a testament to the joy you both bring. For an 1980's birthday party: '80s karaoke contest', or 'Name that Tune', because the '80's was all about the music & grps like, The Police, Pink Floyd, Madonna, Air Supply, Blondie, Toto, etc.
Thanks once again Kay and Dan for a wonderful program. Dan, I love all your historical jaunts. taking the viewers to places I know I will never get to. Gone back to your old podcasts and now am on episode 76. Happy knitting.
I came for the knitting but I always look forward to the walks. Dan, I would love if you could give more info about the different types of stiles you’ve seen.
I'm only part way through the video, and I don't usually leave comments, but I can't get over how beautiful the colors on the moors are. I was thinking that Kay could create a lovely fall color incorporating the rich greens, rusty browns, crusty grays and crisp blues of this amazing landscape!
I 🧡 the Cleveland Brown socks!! (Of course I’m a lifelong Browns fan). I’m making similar socks in Ohio State Scarlet and Gray where I flip the two colors. So much fun!
Loved Walking the Dales! That house was beautiful and the way they live, like it should be! Such a great Fall here, which gets me so inspired with the Knits!!
I wish that my husband would let me knit something for him! I still have some of those old knitting books from the seventies although I learned to knit in the sixties in a department store.
Kay, I have an abundance of mugs as does another knitter friend of mine ;). Dan, I use my clickers (row/stitch counters) just as you do and I never thought there was another way, therefore it is the right way for me because it makes sense in my brain :)
Kay, I just love your jumper! I have seen you wear it before and i think it is such a great shape and design. I am wondering if there is any actual patterns similar to it?? that would be such a great knit! I will not only miss the Walks but the music by your brother, Dom. Oh I love the intro music. I did hunt it down and located it. I could listen to it over and over and over. Looking forward to what you both have in store for us over the next 3 months. Regarding the mugs, my husband couldn’t care less what mugs we have BUT he only drinks his tea out of Maxwell & Williams one! Hahahaha. I drink my tea out of Heritage Stoke-on-Trent mugs. It has to be Fine Bone China or the tea tastes awful. At Christmas, I have started to collect Ashdene mugs. I only buy one at Christmas and in January I put them away for the following Christmas. ❤️
Lovely episode, When I was in Iceland, visiting the lopi shop, they said the wool long fibres made the water just run down while the shorter fibre in the same lopi yarn keeps you warm. It's a wonderful yarn and your sweater is beautiful. Congrats
Brilliant episode. Thank you. I collect mugs from my travels. My husband has now mounted pretty curtain rods with S hooks on my kitchen wall to display them. I love it and spend a little time each morning choosing a cup for my coffee. I agree about tv. I actually don’t watch much anymore except American football. If the announcers get annoying I mute the tv and my husband does the commentary while I knit.
Love the video. The knitting was very informative and I love your projects and yarns. I'm sitting here "tinking" out a few rows of a colorwork cowl. (I hope I got the word right.) It's a learning piece and I'm doing quite well but the pattern part with one stitch is disappearing on my work. I will try what you suggested to make my pattern work better. Thanks very much. The walk is absolutely wonderful. I will never get over your side of the Atlantic and I feel like I'm there with your walks. Again, Thank you very much.
Oh how I have enjoyed my history lessons! Eagerly awaiting your next adventures. I especially love it because my Great Grandparents were from Barnsley. I was blessed to know and live with my great grandmother for the first six years of my life. Her name was Lizzie Jones Nall. Yes...she was a Jones from Barnsley! I believe they came through Ellis Island in the 1880s. I remember that she could not pronounce my mother's name....Irene. She called her Girl. You might be a long lost cousin?
I have a TON of mugs!! 😃 My daughter and I used to get matching mugs every Christmas when she was little! That way when she grew up and moved out of the house we would have matching mugs! She's 28 now, and we're still getting matching mugs! 😳
I'm a mug collecter and love remembering when I got them and places I've been. They have however overrun my cabinets!! What an outstanding walk, I miss them already but look forward to what is coming next. Also I hope to see pictures of Kay with "big 80's hair" at Bryony's sweet sixteen party 🥳
I really enjoyed your Walking in the Dales but looking forward to the new special later on. We played a lot of Monopoly growing up and my girls did too in the ‘80s. Love all your makes and Dan’s jumper is awesome.... great colorwork!
Everytime I came up to Darlington to see my son for the day, that wool shop was always shut,oh it was so frustrating. I guess the owner was ill,as he would always check a few days a week, and he never saw it once 😔💕
Regarding programmes people wait for, I think it depends on what you enjoy watching, a few months ago people were eagerly waiting for each episode of Line of Duty and more recently huge numbers have watch Vigil, both extremely good programmes 😀
Beautiful color!! The first color … also I love the green sweater….the sock is beautiful as well …my problem I want to knit them but get to the heel and stop I’m still determined! Do you prefer magic loop or double pointed?
I know how you feel about mugs. The mug I use everyday is an Easter mug that I found in the local supermarket a couple of years ago. We have lots of other mugs of bone china but still only use 2. As there are only two of us maybe I should do a mug clearance too. Here in Melbourne we are still in lockdown so they would still be hanging around as the charity shops obviously aren't open.
What a lovely walk. Thank you for all you do and share. It is always enjoyable. I am knitting a sleeve on a color work pullover Koivua by Caitlin Hunter. This is my third attempt. I fear my yarn will wear out before I wear it! I didn’t want the blousie sleeve in the pattern. Not practical. The alteration I made was too narrow for my old lady arms. Yikes! Third time is the charm Right? I’m determined to wear this when I gather with my sisters and brother in 2 weeks. I have yarn wound to begin Stephen West MKAL and the first clue came out today. I decided I needed to work this sleeve again so I tinked and I’m 15 rows into a 53 row chart. It’s a long road to Tipperary my mother would say. The Mystery of Stephen West will remain mysteriously unknit for the weekend.
I continue to be so impressed with your “Walking the Dales” series! Especially knowing that you film and edit it all by yourself!! Each episode is so beautiful and so informative! Thank you so very much for adding this to a “knitting” podcast! Of, course the knitting/crochet projects of you both are fabulous, too!❤️❤️
Dan, would you please write out your yarn dominance technique and share it. Just so I can absorb what you said and try it. I would really LOVE it if you would.
Their is a series on Netflix exploring British Castles, and the historian is also called Dan Jones, I actually thought what are the chances it was you, kinda disappointed it's not 😅
Always happy to see you two. I made your Christmas Chutney again this morning! 7 pints for Christmas. Will horde most of it ☺️ I used a Bakers Fruit Medley found at Costco. I added Prunes and Dates to the mix of dried Nectarines , Golden and Black Raisins, Apricots, Peaches, Pears and Cranberries. Yummy.
Re endy bits: I have an idea why the red does not match - the stripey skeins look exactly like Woll Butt’s “Tannenbaum” 3-pack from last season. 👀 My guess is they added one of their own reds but it doesn’t quite match… Thanks for a lovely episode, I highly enjoyed walking the dales with you and can’t wait to get into Christmas-themed specials ❤️
The clicker convo killed me…😂🤣😅! Dan, I don’t mean to pile on, but Kay is correct- you do use clickers wrong. However, its your project & your clickers & i guess you get to choose! ( 🥴🤣!) Regarding the Sirca (sp?) clickers, they’re easy to use, you’ve just got to make a note on the front of your pattern re; what each color represents. Oh my gosh Kay, I’ve been experiencing pain in my shoulder from crocheting too. I’m making a baby blanket and was plugging away until a few weeks ago and then I remembered you talking about crochet causing pain & Ive had to stop for awhile. I wonder if we tweaked the way we crochet if it would be better?
Loved every minute,,,,
Love all the knits,,,,and the Walk!
Elaine🏠🏡
Really enjoyed all your adventures on the moors. Thankyou
Thank you Dan! Such a beautiful walk!! Loved it all!
I loved the castle series, amazing history.

I am a new widow at 50 and need company in my alone time, what absolute joy I have experienced with you today 💜
Thanks. Kay I am fully with you ....this is the fun part for the countdown to Christmas.
LOL!! I have a horrible mug addiction. My husband is always after me about it! 😂😂😂😅
I love hand knit socks!
Yes, agreed! If it works for you then it’s the right way for you.
Thank you for all you do, sharing the worlds most beautiful places and your lovely family and knitting. Wonderful show and fantastic production!
I always enjoy watching and listening to you both on Sunday as I sew away on shop bags. I do more stopping and watching then I do sewing, which is a testament to the joy you both bring.

🤣 the mug conversation is a regular one in our house. I love buying mugs my husband says we have too many 🤣
I was born and brought up in Brighton and we had a Bellmans Department store (with a yarn department that my mother used to visit)
Thanks once again Kay and Dan for a wonderful program. Dan, I love all your historical jaunts. taking the viewers to places I know I will never get to. Gone back to your old podcasts and now am on episode 76. Happy knitting.
I got that same yarn pack from wool warehouse - I love them, they ship even to the US so quickly!
I came for the knitting but I always look forward to the walks. Dan, I would love if you could give more info about the different types of stiles you’ve seen.

Your socks are fine! Here in Browns country there are many variations of color and pattern in support of our team.
I was a teen in the 80’s. My girlfriends and I watched Flashdance and then we would just do some of the dance moves as fun in my friend’s basement.😂
Pictionary and Trival Pursuit are some great 80’s games.
Kay, the Cleveland Browns play the Green Bay Packers on Christmas Day! Dan can wear his new socks ❤️ I also love buying mugs!
We played quite a lot of Trivial Pursuit in the 80s!
Love those socks! The color is fantastic! Dan- you are a process knitter. I, like Kay, am a product knitter... knit on!
Thank you for podcasting. Love your socks happy knitting from Wisconsin usa.
We have to wait for our knitting :) it takes a long time
I have mugs from my kids when they go on vacation so YES IM obsessed!
I 🧡 the Cleveland Brown socks!! (Of course I’m a lifelong Browns fan). I’m making similar socks in Ohio State Scarlet and Gray where I flip the two colors. So much fun!

OMG: "When workmen come in the house, I give them the Buffy mug." You guys kill me! LOL
I wish that my husband would let me knit something for him! I still have some of those old knitting books from the seventies although I learned to knit in the sixties in a department store.
I get my patience fix waiting for my Bakery Bears podcast! Love it. Thanks.
Another brilliant episode! Thank you! I love the knitting and the walks. I also love the interaction between you two❤️❤️
Kay, I have an abundance of mugs as does another knitter friend of mine ;). Dan, I use my clickers (row/stitch counters) just as you do and I never thought there was another way, therefore it is the right way for me because it makes sense in my brain :)
I swooned between Jack and James when watching Lost! Oh my! lol!
Kay, I just love your jumper! I have seen you wear it before and i think it is such a great shape and design. I am wondering if there is any actual patterns similar to it?? that would be such a great knit!

I like the thickness of the stripes on the sporty socks. Maybe its an american thing but chunky stripes like that are very in keeping with sports wear
lol you two are hilarious nattering back and forth at each other. My hubby and I do that too :)

I've heard you talk about how to use clickers before and I'm absolutely on Team Dan with this one. It's the right way. LOL
I have recently discovered your wonderful podcasts and have become a patron. Thank you for all the work you do it is fun, interesting and educational.
I have a TON of mugs!! 😃 My daughter and I used to get matching mugs every Christmas when she was little! That way when she grew up and moved out of the house we would have matching mugs! She's 28 now, and we're still getting matching mugs! 😳
Original Uno, Sorry & Risk (which we played after school in the 80's)
I really enjoyed the walk in this episode. Monopoly is a favorite 80s game, and it has multiple Star Wars editions.
I’ve become more and more of a sports fan for the reason that it’s live and being shared with others real-time. No binge watching or spoilers!
My weekly event TV - Star Trek, Next Gen and then Deep Space. I've loved rewatching them on streaming service.
I'm a mug collecter and love remembering when I got them and places I've been. They have however overrun my cabinets!! What an outstanding walk, I miss them already but look forward to what is coming next. Also I hope to see pictures of Kay with "big 80's hair" at Bryony's sweet sixteen party 🥳
my daughter and I watched LOST together as well - it's gets a bit weird at times, but stick with it, it really is good.
I really enjoyed your Walking in the Dales but looking forward to the new special later on. We played a lot of Monopoly growing up and my girls did too in the ‘80s. Love all your makes and Dan’s jumper is awesome.... great colorwork!
Hi. Loved the show.
Could you over dye the Rudolph wool to get it closer to the red in the other skeins?
Everytime I came up to Darlington to see my son for the day, that wool shop was always shut,oh it was so frustrating. I guess the owner was ill,as he would always check a few days a week, and he never saw it once 😔💕
OMG Kay I can’t stop laughing with all comments about the DND holder you made!!! 🤪 You two are great.
Regarding programmes people wait for, I think it depends on what you enjoy watching, a few months ago people were eagerly waiting for each episode of Line of Duty and more recently huge numbers have watch Vigil, both extremely good programmes 😀

Is that Hadrian's wall in the background 1:25:00?

As soon as I am clever enough to annotate it, I will do a tutorial for it. Best wishes, Dan
80's Board Games: Don't Break the Ice, Lite-Brite, Sorry, Battleship, Operation, Uno, Back to the Future Board Game, The Game of Life.

Kay love the sweater you are wearing is there a pattern?
I’m female and I do not care what mug I drink out of but my husband is particular.
I wouldn't go out in a downpour, but otherwise its great
I really like chicago med and it only has 4 seasons on netflix . Where is season 5 and 6 when 7 is made !!! aaaak .
