  • Aviator Charles Lindbergh's reputation never recovered from antisemitic speeches he made in the 1930s.

Charles Lindbergh was way too complicated to sum up in a YT short. After reading much about him I don’t think a majority of criticism against him is fair, including charges of antisemitism. He didn’t hate the Jews and was against the German persecution of Jews. He didn’t like the fact that Jews as well as other groups were pushing the US into a war he didn’t agree with. One needs to carefully listen to his extensive journals to really understand where he was coming from. He did try to get back in the military to help in the war but FDR blocked him from doing so. He went out to the Pacific to help as a civilian and actually flew on several combat missions against the Japanese. He’s still an American Hero in my opinion.

    But was he wrong? No.

He also was a bigamist with a complete second family in Germany.

Can’t say he was wrong about who was pushing the US into the war. He was right on that account.

So a “fascist” was anti war? Interesting contradiction.

Charles Lindbergh and Henry Ford are American heroes. Wish more people would have listened to them.

And now we find out he was right all along

actually it would be a lot better if America kept out of the business of other countries. rather than trying to dominate them!

Lindbergh may have murdered his own son.

  • @kathywithak7529

Nothing about murdering his first born and playing it off as a kidnapping?

You don't mention the terrible kidnapping and murder of his two week old baby son, which really destroyed the Lindberghs.

Keeping the youth from being fed to a meat grinder....what a criminal.

So, let me get this straight: pointing out whose interest the war was in got him branded as such? The dishonesty of these people is off the charts.

Gore Vidal was a huge supporter of the America First Committee.

  • @Koexistence13

The British etc did want the US in the war.

When you read or watch something, you expect it to be true, but it's always slanted toward the biases of the one doing the reporting

People who came here from school reading class learning about the kidnapping
