I store my PDF patterns in cardboard mailing tube - 3 in x 12 in that I buy on Amazon. They cost under $30 for 10. I roll up the pattern and the instruction then use a Sharpie pen to write pattern info on the end of the tube.
Thank you for doing the math! It helps me to stick to my plan and use up all the $1.99 patterns I already have! Perhaps we could add time spent taping up the pattern...
Hi, Karen, Francis, I am subscribed to you and also coming here to watch you on the vlogging tour. I just heard about this challenge this year. And I did a video also on it.😊
I actually trace the size i want onto tissue paper. I buy it by the roll. The one i bought from Amazon is 48 inches wide, the first roll, from my local fabric store was 60 inches wide. The reason i trace is that i never need to reprint the pattern if i want to use a different size. It does take a bit more time, but i actually prefer working with the tissue paper. Also the tissue paper i use is thicker than normal pattern paper. For storage i roll my taped together PDF and put a fabric hair elastic over it, then store it upright in a tall basket. Thanks for sharing today.
I used to trace my tissue patterns onto paper in case I changed size. Now I just cut the tissue. I do like a thicker paper than the pattern paper. I bought some that has dots every inch but have yet to use it. I like the basket idea i'm imagining a wicker laundry basket.
I am not sure if I would be ready with my Furgal24 make. I am sewing a pussy bow blouse from Sew magazine. To tell the truth, I am not sure if I understand how to sew it. The instructions are not obvious to me and I couldn´t find any sewing tutorial on YT or at least some review.
The download patterns can be hard to figure out because the instructions are so light. I haven't found many free pattern tutorials on youtube either. I hope it works out for you!

That's a good idea, that way they don't get crushed.
I love this kind of cost breakdown. Speaks right to my nerdy accounting heart.
Thanks! I do, too. :)

Oh boy, if I think about the time it took taping those patterns together, and the cost of that time, it wouldn't make it worth it!
Great pluses for paper patterns!❤ I store mine in 11 by 17 Manila envelopes.
Great idea!!

I pay for large format- not cheap! But I hate taping !
I also prefer tissue paper. Hmm maybe I should go with Big 5… at a 1.99 sale.
I can relate to that, I hate taping too! Tissue is much easier to store, that's for sure. Happy Sewing!
