    Pontiac also made an in-line 8 flathead engine for the Cheiftain. They are kinda gutless but run like a sewing machine. Smooth running and they sound pretty neat too.

    I find it funny that the trailer frame looks just like the camper frame I just stripped all the "camper" stuff off of.

      It’s almost done being stripped off

    With how messy the laws are up in Canada, what is the end goal for this engine and/or whole rolling chassis?

      Bennett has some interesting project plans, rat rod type stuff. It's difficult but not impossible. I too, want to see how it plays out.

    I was waiting for the last 10 seconds to see if you guys were riding the frame threw the yard at the end lol .. always fun getting old stuff running like that ,,when you put water in it I am sure it will be brown or even black after a few mins running ,, seals might be dried up in the water pump also ?? good luck ..

    There's no sound on my end. Anybody else having the same problem?

      Shit, that's weird. Maybe because it's not done processing? Give it a bit.

    Nothing like the sound of a flathead engine❤️ I remember the first time I got my uncle's 41 mercury monarch running,that flathead V8 was so smooth!!

      He's planning on building with it. It's a hydro, so you probably don't want it as much as you thought.

    Awesome engine repair video. Excited to see the old engine come back to life. Are you up for collaboration by the way? We are looking for youtubers to work with to share videos about small engine repairs.

    "Where's the Genie"? haha! Man you can't keep a Old GM down, even if it is a flathead.

    @ roughly 28 and a half minutes.... HOW did those back wheels spin... Yet the driveshaft stayed still?

    • @DocSprocket
      @DocSprocket  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good eye. It's called a "torque tube". Driveshaft is actually completely enclose in the tube that you see there. Not so common these days.

      @@DocSprocket That's funny. I was going to jokingly ask if the 'real' driveshaft was inside what looks like the driveshaft. LOL Joke was on me! =0) I hope you guys are doing well!

    It would be cool with a turbo, and about 10psi boost, to make up for the flat head compression! It would probably run more like a 283 V8, not really go for a race engine , but more like a truck engine. It could probably make about 290hp and 400ftlbs TQ, with 10-15psi boost, with a 500holley carb, I'd about leave everything like it is, start with 6psi, keep going up, until the gain per psi dropped, and leave it there. Size the turbo to be done around 5500rpm, a twin scroll, with diverter valve to spool quicker, it should almost make boost at idle, good boost by 2500, peak at 3500-4500rpm, should be real fun to drive, should never think it's a i6, a 4speed swap would make night and day difference,

      For sure! Actually, I really like the visual effect of having a supercharger hanging off the side of an inline engine. But... not my project- so who knows what he'll do?
