Hi Lou, this makeover sounds exciting. It might help to research colorful modern 'Maximalism' designs. We have a filter that can take you to some fun products! www.lowes.com/pl/Modern-maximalism/2120632293486
I know what you mean. It doesn’t have to be juvenile. But lots of people will have a negative response. I personally like Disneyesque colors but I need to stave off depression. I have a feeling that if you need your home to feel like a sanctuary, if you need respite from the outside world, you are far more likely to go for calm and serene home decor, much more laidback stuff. I find most people’s spaces to be a snore. It’s okay. Most find my home chaotic. I now have a very large all white, highly textured “painting” (really it’s an assemblage painted white) in my living room. It’s on top of a very loud wallpaper. But it seems to help those who feel overwhelmed by all of my color. Gives them somewhere to rest their eyes.
Too much dopamine has long been considered a causative factor for schizophrenia, not enough is Parkinson's disease. A small amount of this trend incorporated into a neutral style is my goal and what I would recommend. I felt overwhelmed just watching the video, she didn't use it for her own background when she was speaking into the camera. Please be careful with this trend y'all
Family called me crazy when I did this 20 years ago because it's my house and its makes me happy. Now it's a trend.
Lol. I thought the same thing! 😁
Love this video. TH-cam, make this stuff viral! I'll be shopping lowes next couple trips for this video alone! Thanks, no joke.
I LOVE it I had already started designing pieces with more color for my space. Now you have given me even more ideas to bring happiness into my space!
Love this 🤗
Love rooms with color!!!!
This is so fun! Kate is the best!
I would like to visit that room, but I can't live there. I love color but that is overwhelming.
I love that Minimalism is now getting out of fashion
This is a little too busy and colorful for me.
How do I get more examples of dopamine decor? I wanna make my basement office colorful because I want the boost of creativity when I'm working

😱 Oh no, no, no, this is way too much color…
I love colour, but that room is making me feel seasick, it's way over the top.
Where’s Monica? These new trends are horrible.
Feels very "bubble gum" and immature to me. Just not my style.

Don’t like it at all. Too messy.
Color psychology is taught in school but dopamine is produced for pain in the brain. You might want to rethink your metaphors.
Dopamine is a chemical released in the brain that makes you feel good.
Dopamine is known as the "feel good" hormone. And I think the room is charming.
Are you thinking of endorphins? 🤔
