At first glance, everything seemed fine... until I opened the panel. What I found inside was a serious issue that could have been dangerous if left unchecked! Unfortunately, mistakes like these are more common than you’d think.

I personally love that my box is filled with Siemen.
Are you not worried about replacing the old bus bars? And what about the main breaker - did you upgrade that as well? It seems silly to me to replace almost every breaker but not the whole panel.
Are “panel restorations” a popular thing over there?
In the UK we tend to just replace the whole consumer unit (panel) and just do a much better job of it as a whole.
Most inspectors want to see a ring of exposed copper so they know you didn't clamp down on insulation and it also makes it a lot easier to do power quality measurements of the live system. There's virtually no chance none of those breakers needed to be GFCI. I guess Iowa lets you get away with being dippy.
