ESPN overpaid for bill barnwell
Mfs put the Vikes down for giving Kurt money over the 6 years he was in MN, then they put the Vikes down for letting Kurt walk, now they saying they overpaid for a bridge QB and drafting a rookie 😂 you cannot make this shit up, the media narrative about the Vikings will always be negative even if they contradict themselves. How can you say option A is better than option B, then when the Vikes do option A, the media flips and criticizes them and says they shoulda done option B even though earlier they said option A was better?
That’s Minnesota sports my friend
@averygreen2244 very true. All MN sports. It's just ridiculous, I get MN isn't LA or New York, but the blatant obvious bias/hate for no f****** reason is just stupid.
@@Reptar11 And when fans of team we have practically NO history of rivalry or anything hates us for no GD reason! Like, there would be a freaking Dolphins fans trashing us randomly, even though we have no reason to even hate each other lol
Jackson Kruger Sports put it this way: Would you rather have Kurt Cousins or JJ McCarthy and $45 million dollars.
Kirk Cousins easily. Anybody who says otherwise doesn't know football.
@@solomonrodriguez9187I see the crusade is going swimmingly still.
@solomonrodriguez9187 easily JJ and 45 million dollars. You obviously aren't the brightest bulb on the tree. Paying a 36 QB coming off an Achilles injury for 55 plus is stupid. The Vikings are already giving him a ton in dead cap this season.
@@hitman9198 Achilles doesn't mean anything for a pocket passer. 45 mil for a good QB is worth it. JJ McCarthy isn't good.
@solomonrodriguez9187 jj is a 21 year old rookie. There is no possibility that you know he is bad or good. Stop acting like a knowitall jackass.
Bro, how come no one is shitting on the Broncos like this?
They're too busy glazing Sean Payton
After the injuries to Kurt Cousins, Nick Mullens and Jaren Hall last year I feel like $10 million for Sam Darnold as a bridge QB is a wise investment. NFL seasons are now super long and Darnold is a suitable mentor to a 1st round QB. And perhaps most importantly, as a long time Vikings fan I GUARANTEE if the Vikings hadn't signed Darnold then another team moves up to draft McCarthy and we start the season QB 1 Nick Mullens, QB 2 Jaren Hall, QB 3 a 3rd round reach.
Another prime example how ESPN, with the exception of Mc Afee, is going straight down the shitter!
And if we kept Kirk at his price. Barwell would have said that were stupid.
If Darnold starts at least half of the season I'd say that is an indicator that he's doing well and the investment was worth it
The thing that really gets me about Kurt is I was just coming around to finally thinking maybe this guy actually deserves a little bit of respect and then he goes and pulls some BS. Glad he’s gone.
They talked before draft of giving up 3 first and a starting tackle from NE. I listened to you tube content of NE fans prior to draft. They were talking huge pay for Viks to move up. We got our QB for 3 picks but only one #1.. We got maybe best end in draft by moving up. There wont be as much pressure to start JJ. He could get a chance to develop and learn offense. Had we used the three 1rst rounders JJ would be under gun to produce right away to prove worth of first rounders and change GM did great job if JJ gets a chance to grow into our franchise QB.
Just fodder, before the draft everyone predicted it would take 3 firsts and change. Kwesi got JJ, the #1 defensive player, and kept 2025 1st. Giving up the change, all the Hattters and Loooosers are pissed they got schooled.
This guy has to learn math cheaper then what they been paying for kirk
Darnold is - at least for now, and hopefully for well into the season - a starting QB. $10M for a capable veteran QB is a bargain.
How could it be a loss how many playoff games did we get out of him
i have a feeling the vikings are going to show the league why they won this draft. i APPLAUD kwesi for PERFECTLY executing what he did. if jj and turner are both what they are projected to be, we are set for a long time in 2 of the most important positions in football.
Look at him and his history on top of that. That’s fine by me lol.
Barnwell is a legend in his own mind.
Personally, I find the Vikings decision making pretty insane. The fact that Joe Flacco reached out (King of the playoffs, playing in dome, with the type of talent we had and our offensive line - I find it insane they went with Dobbs and find it insane they didn't go Flacco or another accomplished vet as the bridge. I find having a developmental bridge that could become something when you're only using for one year and developing JJ to be almost as dumb as drafting penix after paying Kirk Cousins
Some people just hate on teams for 0 reason
Penix going to ATL is going to be looked at in a very similar way to the Eagles taking Jalen Reagor
@@RednGone I'm not necessarily saying Penix is going to be a bust, but I feel like McCarthy is going to be a significantly better NFL player than Penix and Atlanta will be mocked for taking the wrong guy
Media types judging with hindsight again. All this “They could have done…” with their draft picks is easy to say after the fact. Darnold could end up starting all season, and then they just paid $10 for a starter. Meanwhile, Atlanta…
First, Barwell is wrong. Sam was not signed as a backup. He was signed as the starter this year. Second, they managed to acquire the 23rd overall pick without spending a future year 1st. Third, the 2 2nds they spent for that 23rd was a sunk cost and had no bearing on the Turner trade since they owned it before the trade. Fourth, they traded up 6 spots in the 1st again for 2 day 3 picks, again without spending that future 1st. And this clown want to criticize those moves? 🤦♀🤦♀
You never know 5 years from now Bill Barnwell will come out and say that the 2024 Minnesota vikings made the best 1st round moves in draft history. Let's revisit this in 5 years.
What bs
I think Darnold doesn't make sense. 10 mill when I'm fine with Mullens as a long term backup at a reasonable cost. Yes, he's a gun slinger who's reckless, but I'd rather have someone who can make all the throws and put up points how to learn to reign it in, instead of someone who can't.
Who is that? Kirk is over paid. WAY OVERPAID!! We got a deal for our current QBs
5 dollars is too much for Darnald.
Bro! Darnold is trash, stop hyping him up😂😂😂
Judging Darnold off of his years with 2 of the worst run organizations in football lol
Who watches espn anymore. Run by woke Disney execs.
