Coming from the UK and having recently just completed the North PCH from SF up to the Oregon border, having done the south PCH from SF to San Diago last year, I would preferably say the North PCH is the best vib for less traffic, greater views and easier driving. There are some lovely places going south; however, the drive is frequently interrupted due to land slide or road issues. Going north we did not experience any of this and the scenery going north is way more enjoyable. Thanks for the great videos, I have used them a lot for guidance. I felt your south America ones were excellent and supported our trip to Peru earlier in the year. I have planned my trip to Langkawi next year around your video too. Thanks again.

Mum and i had a 15 day organised holiday to the U.S.A. in 1975, from Sydney, Australia. The plane trip took 25 hours ( Sydney to Auckland to Papeete to L.A.) We travelled by coach from LA to San Francisco to Yosemite to Bakersfield to Hover Dam to Las Vegas to Grand Canyon then back to L.A. to Disneyland then by plane back to Papeete for 3 days then home to Sydney via Noumea, and Fiji. 49 Years after my holiday to the US everything looks different, which is to be expected, especially Las Vegas. It looks like a major city with tall buildings crammed together.
San Francisco has the best public transit system in California. SF has SF Muni light rail and buses for around SF, Cable Cars for fun, BART for the east bay, and Caltrain for the peninsula and the south bay. There's a ferry system that will take you to the north bay, Treasure Island, Angel Island, Alcatraz Island, and various other points. Amtrak will take you to Sacramento, Monterey, Santa Barabara, and Los Angelese. You will need to be cautious on SF Muni and on BART but the other transit systems are safe.

A car in San Diego is recommended but not needed. You can easy book Uber or ride the trolly and or street cars.
