When foreigners speaking better Filipino than most Filipino, it becomes very very impressive. I grew up in the Visayan region, and most people there have a hard time speaking Filipino. Mostly Bisaya and English. Amazing.

Well Filipino is the national language, which composes of the other dialects. So you probably meant tagalog, I'm also a proud Cebuano that finds it not that easy to constantly speak in Tagalog.

Your Tagalog and vocabulary are quite impressive. I only speak English and Hebrew and don't get to speak much Tagalog with my family in the States. When I do, I tend to forget words and nabububulol ako. Writing isn't a problem coz I can take my time and check everything 😆

If you can 'barely speak" Tagalog, then you are speaking Filipino, the National Language where just about anything that can be understood and accepted by many people is accepted. Just don't call it Tagalog. If you can sing and understand songs by Ruben Tagalog, then you are a Tagalog speaker, if not, you a Filipino speaker and you sing OPM (Original Pilipino Music) not OFM....

Well, my family wanted to practice their English so they'd only have me speak in English. Watching your videos, I'm determined now to speak it; at least I can understand Tagalog about 70-80% of the time.

It depends on upbringing. But I must say you're lucky you know how to speak in your indigenous dialect. I am of Tinggian and Kankanaey tribes but neither i speak of them. They only thought me of Ilocano. I really envy those kids speaking on my own supposed-to-be-dialect, and you must be one of them. You grew up with the folks and indigenous words of your land. Ahhhy, its a big deal for me. For me if i can speak my own dialects, i could be prouder as ever because i have the blood

So if you want to be better at their language join them, it's better to experience it rather than typing sentences which you would find hard to speak... I'm a Filipino and planning to go to Japan 😁😁
