They do look very similar. Awesome edit, Sean. I liked the transition from watching the clips to seeing them on your computer screen in your video editor.

I've been wondering if I should get this lens for my Hero 9, but I don't do any action sports that require a super wide view. And after watching your video I'll come to same conclusion as you. I think I should just put the $99 towards either the GoPro Max or the Insta 360 One X2 instead. Your video really helped me figure who this lens was for, and where I could be spend my money. One question, do the 360 camera's offer the horizon leveling that the Max Lens Mod does?
Thanks again Ron. I'm glad this video was helpful. I think if you are not doing anything to crazy the horizon lock in linear mode with the standard lens set up is plenty. Heck the super view with normal stabilization is pretty amazing on its own. I agree. Save the 99 dollars and grab a max or x2. I hope to make a side by side of those two later this month.

Max lens is great unless you need higher frame rates and 4k.

Really appreciate you taking the time and doing this. Very helpful video. One thing I noticed is there is a slight difference in color vibrancy when the mod is attached. Greens and blues look different...Do you notice this as well? Maybe just my eyes.

You Have to Shoot in 4:3 and then frame Stretch it Horizontally to get the Widest Tallest View with Max Lens 1.0...

the stability is pretty amazing but if you do not need the horizon lock I would put the 99 bucks to a gopro max.

I actually retired my GoPro Hero 7 and bought the insta360 oneX2 but if i hand't done that i would get the Hero 9 for sure, saying that, I love the insta360. p.s. @seanozz my stickers arrived in Russia, thanks man the skull and roses is awesome.
The x2 is a nice camera though it's single lens mode requires an adapter to use it in many ways. For that mode I like tye gopro max. I'll be doing a side by side hopefully later this month with those two. Both awesome cameras.

The action 2 would have to be pretty amazing to have a chance to compete with the max or 9 cameras. The 7 outperformed the action in most of my side by sides.
It's not bad for the current price though.
