Rei was the best thing about this series. A real friend in such harsh times to have your back. While he's basically the Krillin, Yamcha, Tienshinhan of the series but his death was a lot more impactful (I actually cried when he got killed instantly by Raoh in the animated movie) his death marks the end of his and Mamiya's chapter😭 and he's just the start of the many allies turned brothers the franchise runs through for Ken's lonesome wandering through wastelands. Rest in piece to the Waterfowl Fist master and South Star of Justice and his original VO who passed long after Rei
When looking at Rei and the other Nanto users (plus Ryuga to a lesser degree), one can only imagine how even more devastating the likes of OPM's Saitama would be if he used open-hand strikes now and again.
I agree. I don't know what it is, but I personally think "What color is your blood?" sounds far more intimidating than "Do you bleed?" Probably has to do with the sheer amount of rage that Rei has in his voice when he shouted the line.
Possibly my favorite anime character of all time. Great character arc, cool dude, understood his place in the grand scheme of things better than anyone else (with the possible exception of Raoh) and was just absolutely bad-ass.
On an unrelated note, why the hell do people call Souther, "Thouzer?" I get it's been written that way in some translations, but his name is so obviously Souther (they literally SAY Souther in the show, and the name makes thematic sense) that it's just mind-boggling why anyone would stick with "Thouzer."

awesome, it still bugs me that subtitles translate Nanto Suicho Ken a bit too literally, instead "water fowl" "crane" would of been a better transliteration. to have it be "Southern Crane Fist"; "Southern Water-Crane Fist" would of worked too imo
