Thanks for sharing your thoughts some of the TT range Greg. I have really enjoyed the quality and overall standards of my TT:120 purchases in Australia. Totally agree with your assessments. Again the availability of stock is very poor and extremely disappointing. 🚂. Keep up the great work. Cheers
I really don't understand why Hornby haven't sorted out the Aussie market yet. I know they have an exclusive contract with a distributer, but surely its not beyond the wit of man to get it sorted!
Great video as always Greg. Xmas list like me mate and looking forward to what’s coming out next. Id recommend a Duchess. I change my mind every time I take a model out the box. Which can only be a good thing.
@mactrains the grey (maersk) were arnold releases no longer available. Great wagons all off them just need the 66 to haul them which apparently is delayed till next year?so they say.
I also don’t have much A1, A4, Duchess and an 08 in the sale. I’d say the LMS Duchess is my favourite. Big step up in quality. Hornby magazine agrees 😊
@@mactrains They are amazing and easily the steam version of the Class 50 for quality. Since I started in January this year I can really tell the increase of quality on the new stuff compared to the first releases. The 43s, 50s & Duchess are truly the 2nd gen for TT. Can't wait for the 37 & 31 plus the new steam. Hopefully the J50 will be the 2nd gen 0-6-0 and even to new 08 too.
@@mactrains DCC and a stay alive will be by far the easiest way to get consistent slow running over dead frogs. I have got mine working well most of the time, with a good bit of rail cleaning, checking the pickups for dust and fluff, and adding a bit more weight. Even so, there are still a few outtakes from my videos where the Giant Sky Finger has to intervene with a push... 🤣
I think the 08 was overly ambitious - a hell of a lot to try to fit in to an extremely small space. Not where I would have wanted to start with a brand new range of models in a very challenging scale.
I suspect Hornby came to the same conclusion! At one level it is intuitively a good choice - lots of potential eras covered, and a deceptively simple boxy shape - how hard can it be...? And then they start actually doing the work...
Great video … interesting, insightful and informative
All the best
Mike
Very kind of you Mike - thanks again for watching
Thank you for the video, very insightful! I’m looking forward to more information about the 37’s!
Yes, for me the 37s are really exciting.

@ Agreed but there it is 😳
Always interesting Greg. Thanks.
Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks Trevor

I think perhaps my layout is a little small to allow a Duchess to really shine, but never say never...
The grey 21t wagon isn't available yet?. The best wagons I think are the container wagons.
Yes, not sure when the grey ones appear. Haven't tried the containers yet! Thanks for watching

Currently showing as 12th December according to the website source code - but it often slips
Best loco Princess Coronation LMS Livery 😀
2nd Best Princess Coronation BR Liveries.
If I had one (or even two!) then I may well agree Tim!

I think the Duchess is to the A1/A3/A4s what the 50 is to the 08.

@ except the Duchess doesn’t have driveshafts popping out all over the place 😆
My 08 is definitely better on dcc, but it needs a stay alive on hornby points if travelling slow!
Yes, some layouts, such as Hollybush, have got the 08 running very sweetly on DC alone, but for me the switch to dcc made a massive difference.
