I tried learning manual shift but never got the hang of it. Glad your worst travel day experience is over. Which date was it in Venice? It looked super crowded.
Where do I begin, in the summer before my senior school year our history teacher and his wife took 12 students to study aboard, joining over 200 kids on the same six week course of England, France, Austria and Italy. We had bathrooms with bidet. We asked our teacher WHAT was it for😮, and he told us to use it for feet washing. We believed him. Kinda glad we did. Many years later, husband and I were in Germany, and I was going to drive, so he could taste the varous beers. Living on a farm, I have driven tractors, trucks, and cars with shifts. No problem, however, I couldn't. My husband said he wasn't that in need to try their beers if it meant issues with the vehicle our our lives 😮. Felt bad for you for your long day, but then memories.
Sorry to inform you american whatver your name is but it is basic common logic that you need to learn how to drive a manual to drive one. Just like parking a boat or flying a plane. I think the disillusioned one is you and your boyfriend so please don’t post click bait saying don’t make a mistake driving manual in italy it is a fantastic experience for most regular people when you should be saying ‘don’t try driving manual on holiday for the first time and being overconfident. Ciao.
Yea. Be’s like that someday. It’s one thing when things go bad back home, but totally another when they go bad in a foreign language. Been there, done that. Glad you pulled out of it 👍🙏👏👏👏
You might want to learn manual before renting again. Get someone to teach you and practice it. Not that difficult. Once you learn it, you know it pretty well and it sticks with you. The hard part is getting the clutch-gas timing down and knowing how to get up hills. Once you are moving, shifting is very easy.
We would most likely recommend an American rental company just because they tend to be more reliable and typically have better customer service. But the European companies are definitely cheaper.
Lol, what on Earth made you think you could drive a manual car, if you can't drive a manual car? 🤣 You burned the clutch out - why do you think they would be "awful super-mean" if they charged you for it? Wow......
Jay rides dirtbikes and had used clutches and gears before so we thought he would be able to pick it up. We were all given then illusion of “full insurance coverage.” Not ideal 🤷🏼♂️
@@jayxnina normally driving licenses won't let you drive manual if you only have learned automatic. But you can drive automatic even if you only learned manual. Atleast it's like this here in the Philippines
CONGRATS ON 1k!! That’s huge!!!
Thanks big dog-its big time for us

Sometime late september-I can’t imagine what it’s like during peak season
This is gold! When I saw him going up to 5k RPM and dropping the clutch,... I knew what was coming. 🤣
Cringe 🫣
@@jayxnina I'm still wondering how this happened, since there was experience riding a motorcycle. Anyway - lesson learned!
@@hesersu that’s what I’m saying! Jay did pick it up, maybe just not fast enough before the clutch burned out?

Wise advice 🙏🏻
Just be thankful you weren't driving a right hand wheel car with the shifter on your left hand...
bro that would've been nuts I didn't even think about that.
Which company do u offer in italy?

@@jayxnina what about insurances issue. Which process have u followed?
@@mustafafilik59 we used the insurance through our credit card company since it was better than the insurance offered by the rental car company
@@jayxnina Did they “full coverage insurance”?
@@mustafafilik59 most insurance covers like minor damages or crashes. Theres a lot that they dont cover even with “full coverage”
