Beach fishing is awesome. Knowing big fish eat smaller fish and planning for that is exciting enough. Catching a garnish, casting it straight back out under a bobby dazzler float and to see the float go berserk, disappear and end up with a 6kg salmon is 1 of many live bait memory's down Golden Bay way. Love the waste nothing mentality also and sharing your cooking ideas.

Great video mate. I also fish the same way as you. I normally send out a couple big rods if weather suits normally one with a gang hook and one snelled rig with mulies and mullet, while there soaking I use sabiki rig with small pieces of squid with a small weighted burley cage on the bottom to help attract the fish, then when I do get the whiting send them out alive and wait for the bigger fish to come along, Not very often the bigger fish come along but also good to see that am not the only one goes home empty handed 😂. Keep the videos coming mate great work.

Once again Love the vids mate! I ended up taking the Hobie out for a freshwater fish at Drakesbrook Weir today, absolutely magic day, beautiful scenery, next to no wind and the lake was pretty much deserted, caught 3 redfin perch too! Homemade fish and chips for dinner!
That's why we call it fishing and not catching.

I used the same strategy in Busso a while back. Same thing happened, nothing on the surf rod but ended up smashing the herring on the light gear and got a great feed. Good vid Jimmy, keep up the great work. 🤙
