I sampled the 3 of them around 7 months ago, and I ended up buying Mefisto Gentiluomo as I think it is absolutely gorgeous.
Same, I baught 17 different samples and the Mefisto Gentiluomo is the one I keep going back to and am about to go buy as its the only one of them all that's about empty :)

There's really no excuses nowadays for the fragrances with the price 400$+ to have a really poor longevity and projection as Creed house. Mefisto is the best imo, the smell is like a cool windy weather, a bit floral, but in elegant way, I see it at 30+ years, has great performance. Gentiluomo I think is more for the 18-25 years audience with a little bit youthful/playful character.
I used to think this way as well, but you’re buying the scent when it comes down to it. Not all fragrances are gonna be beast mode. Some you only need 3-4 hours of performance while others you want 8+. Depends on the occasion and what you want from a fragrance for that particular situation. I love Creed due to the higher quality ingredients and their scents. Some last 6+ hours on my skin while others last 3-4 hours.
Hey Ash - Silver Mountain Water was the first Niche fragrance i ever owned. Love it.

I'm interested in Mefisto / Gentiluomo during the day, as high heat virtually all year round in Australia.

Mefisto was my first "niche" fragrance without knowing what that was. comparing to what i was using at that time, oh man.. im on my 3rd bottle now but don't use it as much anymore. but man if i put it under me nose, triggers so many memories and just paints a smile on my face. such smoothness yet so fascinating
Nice review Ash, I love the ink note in SMW, it's my favorite Creed by far, but I also love Mefisto, I haven't smelled gentle uomo unfortunately.
Another great one. I have never smelled the others but I do like silver mountain water.
Really helpful. I went with the flanker because I don’t get dressed up a lot and I’m not disappointed. My partner loves it too so bonus points.

SMW is amazing, but even cheap clones have better longevity
Mefisto is devine.
Performs quite well, and smells much more rounded and warmer than Silver Mountain Water... Not a fan of the ink vibe either, so going the Xerjoff over the Creed is a no brainer for me.

Should have shown off the Mefisto box. The presentation is awesome.
Mefisto is a strikingly beautiful fresh fragrance. I enjoy the first hour of Mefisto Gentiluomo, but after that I'm left with a rather bland musky smell. Haven't tried SMW enough to compare it.

I’m currently checking out xerjoff with samples but also with a couple bottles I pulled the trigger on. I keep hearing how the quality,longevity,projection of said brand is head and shoulders above a lot of other brands out there. Figured why not try it out.

I sampled the Gentiluomo a few months ago and loved it. It smells exactly like Choward’s Violet candy.
I smelled Mefisto today. So delicious, will get soon. Already own SMW
I've not tried the other two but I've Mefisto gentiluomo and I love it. Gets me compliments too
how many sprays do you do?
I love SMW and Mefisto. Gentiluomo is alright. However, out of the 3, I think Mefisto has the best performance. SMW does not perform well enough. I love the scent but it barely projects for an hour and then it becomes a skin scent (online reviews say the same too).
It doesn't really matter because most people. Most people, don't get compliments. The fragrance ultimately is worth for the user.
I only tried Mefisto. It threw me off at first with the opening, it’s quite potent like dark berries but it changes and becomes beautiful then the base is quite pleasant after 3 hours.

After trying both I originally bought Mefisto, however, I kept going back to the sample of SMW. I eventually pulled the trigger on SMW and it quickly became my favorite of the two. SMW is more snappy and refreshing as opposed to Mefisto which has rounded edges and isn’t as challenging. Both great compositions though!

I just blind purchased Mefisto Gentiluomo yesterday. I wore it today and my goodness, what a wonderful fragrance! Like Ash said, it’s very smooth. It is very inoffensive. The floral notes are powdery but still come off masculine. The citrus in the opening is so fresh. The creaminess you get in the dry down accompanied by floral notes lasts forever. I’ve had this on since 7am, it’s 6pm now and it’s still very lively! This one is masterfully blended, now I need to get my hands on a bottle of Creed Silver Mountain Water!

@BB-hb5ck I mean it's a really wonderful fragrance. To me, personally, I think 100ml is well worth $130.
Have all three. To me they tend to feel seasonal. SMW feels like Winter (bitter elements, cold, bit of a bite to it), Mefisto feels like Spring (bright, open, sharp), and Gent feels like Summer and Fall (warm, smooth, relaxed, bright)
Honestly, having owned both, Mefisto is much better than SMW, which I used to have, and absolutely doesn't last and no one will smell. Mefisto smells nicer for a man and lasts the whole day. I wouldn't own SMW also if you have or like MI, they have a similar vibe in the mid and dry down. Have yet to try Gentiluomo.
I have silver and gentle I like both but I’d pick gentle. But I also have thameen green pearl, and I think green pearl is way better then them both. I’m probably gonna sell my silvermw because green pearl is stronger and smoother with a beautiful bright green apple note

My husband gave me silver mountain water on mother's day and I am so in love with it! I don't think I have ever loved perfume that much and I have so many perfumes! I don't get any inky note😀
Own all 3 for the exact reasons mentioned... I have to agree, gun to my head, I’d have to keep my 120ml SMW. Is it because I have a huge Creed collection and it’s a vintage 120ml, yeah most likely. But I love them all, I just justify it as having 2 backup bottles of “SMW” 😂🤣

Have you smelled mefisto?
I'd pick Silver Mountain Water. I've never picked up an inky vibe to it. It just smells fresh and beautiful to my nose.
I have tried to like SMW but it just does not agree with my nose. Mephisto is less inky but still disagrees with m my nose. Have not smelled the new one.
I don't know why but recently Mefisto makes my nose uncomfortable and even give me a nose-ache and I don't know how is that possible 😢

I tryed mefisto and on the dry down I felt it very feminine, but I just try it three times, does any one else had these problem

I own Xerjoff Naxos and I adore this fragrance. I’m looking into getting a Spring/Summer fragrance from this house, but there are too many choices.
Have you tried Renaissance or Nio? just picked me up a bottle of Renaissance for summer. It's fantastic!

How does Silver by Al-Rehab stack up as a SMW clone?
What I like about this guy, he breaks down a colognes ingredients so well and thoroughly. Which is what I want to know. Not saying he does in this video since its a comparison (I am writing this while watching it) but in general he is very thorough and I like this about him a lot.
SMW is really my first love/hate fragrance. It’s warm outside and I wanna wear SMW 1 day I will smell it from the atomiser and it just smells amazing. Couple days later I will do the same and from the atomiser the inky note is too prominent and it’s too much 🤷♂️🤷♂️

Silver mountain water is know for its awful performance in 2021, as are most creeds. You can alo get the Xerjoff for 100ml compared to Silver mountain water a 50ml for the 195-199$ price, if that matters to any of you

Hey men i see the review for mefisto gentiluomo i live en the carribean Puerto Rico and is 365 hot here my friends i only have fiero and i liked for this temperatures but your review clear my mind more for buy gentiluomo because my friend now in this month is hot here even the night is hot may be refreshing on the night for couple of day that rain but during the day uff is hot so i buy this gragance and for the third fragance finish wirh naxos thank men nice review.
Is it the Mountain that's Silver or the Water?
Creed Silver Mountain Water right now 2023 lasts 1 hour on my skin I think due to reformulation. I would choose Mefisto Gentleuomo lasts longer. I'm in a tropical country.

I think Mefisto is the best choice. SMW is a close second and I would have both no problem. I don't think they are redundant. But MG is an intersection point between the aforementioned. But, again, I can't get passed the fact that it reminds me of Azzaro Chrome. A lot. So I would stick with SMW and og Mefisto.
Mefisto Gentiluomo by far lasts the longest of the 3 on me and everyone else I know that’s tried them.

Tbh silver mountain water to me and the gf smells like tea and ink.
Honestly i cannot stand it (same as her) yes its complex but i just dont think wearing a polarising fragrance is something i'd do.
Not a blind buy, will stick with aventus and millisime imperial.

MG smells very lavendery and green. Mefisto always feels super citrusy to me. I think my nose is broken.
Its like that. The Mefisto do smell very citrusy/orangy at the beginning. The MG is lavendery-musky indeed.
What does "musky" smell like?
how do they compare to mancera wild fruits? heard it is pretty similar to smw
@Sample Scents thanks a lot for the detailed explanation. Mancera in general have a synthetic vibe which I dont mind as long it is not a straight hairspray or bathroom cleaner smell. probably have to try it to see it for myself
If I think about ice cool fragrance, it has to be PDM Galloway. IMHO.
Gentiluomo tows that line of "is this too floral for me" as a man. Smells quite pleasant though.

Silver Mountain is more mature not candy plasticy sweet. The king here is SILVER MOUNTAIN WATER. yet performance for xerjoff is a bit better ( longetivty).
Just get Rasasi Al Wisam and safe yourself $200 USD if you don;t have any of these already. SMW is my favorite of the 3 and one of the only Creeds I own. I will say all are very unisex too.
i would add alghabra scent of paradise to the mentioned trio and make it a fatal 4 way, wwe style

I dont know any of these. Bought me the Club de Nuit Sillage last year after the hype and it was the worst fragrance I ever smelled in my 20+ years of fragrances. It was like 100% aggressive citrus toilet cleaner. And it did not get any better with the dry down. So I never looked into Creed SMW because people stating they are perfect clones. But I ordered me the Mefisto Gentlioumo blindly yesterday, after reading it has barbershop vibes and I am crazy for barbershop fragrances. So, fingers crossed I wont get another Club de Nuit Sillage type of fragrance.

Same experience with sillage. Its disgusting. Shame on these reviewers who say its the same or better than SMW. Not even close.
What I'd choose? Easy. If I don't have to pay for it, Creed. If I do, the cheaper of the three.

Go for Silver Mountain Water ! Today I have smelled also mefisto and mefisto G. Look Listen and Be Sure -- Silver Mountain Water is much much much better , a class of its own and even reading the ingridients say the same.
Silver Mountain Water is second only to Aventus.
