I have not. It would be interesting to see how the results come back though. I did look into doing a ground water test for herbicides and pesticides. It was very expensive.
Glyphosate and 2-4D get rapidly bound to soil and organic particles (neutralized, unavailible to the plants) and break down within a season in typical compost and soil conditions. Most glyphosate residue on crops comes from the practice of pre-harvest burn down, which is killing the crop (usually seed crops like grain or beans) to get it dry and harvested more reliably and reduce risks of weather and pests. Clopyralid, aminopyralid, and picloram are the only modern herbicides likely to have any significant persistance in composted manure. And have recently added explicit label warnings about compost and restrictions against removing any hay, compost, or manure from the the application property. (And applicators must retain a record of having warned the customer.)
@@INOrganicFarmer I disc over rye then plant soybean, I have a crimper but not have a chance to use it cause rye suppress weed not well enough to crimp over. 7.5" row soybean serpress weed seems not bad. heavy clay is easier than loam soil for weed control.
Just ran across your channel. Looking good, really like the overview of your guidance hitch and cultivator setup.
Thank you!
another great video!! We want to see more of these.
Thank you for watching! I’m glad you are enjoying them!
Have you tested manure for herbicide residue? Like roundup. 2-4D and others. Some say there is.

Where are you, I do organic soybean in 7.5” rows, yield good.
I’m located in Central Indiana. Are you doing no-till soybeans into roll crimped rye or full tillage and cultivating on 7.5” rows?
