My prejudice regarding stories on nostalgia/ disillusionment about those times had stemmed from movies like Gulmohar, Hazaaron Khwayishen aisi, etc. that “I felt”, lacked the depth in the depiction of the personal experiences of those involved and deviated from their path. This book sounds good. Will try 👍
Veering away from religion to atheism is not disillusionment but knowing more this world and universe and moving away from pure stupidity and even venality I think.
One can call it stupidity but people rationalize religion in many different ways… I don’t look at the world in binaries… so for me people make choices to be in a religion or not… there are people who are in a religion for community sake. I think there are many atheists who are still in religion… The problem I have with atheists (and I am one) they think they are way smarter and those who have religion are stupid and that I guess is the problem… religion can exist even without the concept of god… if you just look at the community concept… and for rituals even brushing a certain way is a ritual… so the world is way more Grey and non binary than the atheists would like to believe. Today I find many atheists in the same slot as fundamentalists :)
