love the accent and good video thanks
Thanks for watching!
Nice video, the compressor on my 2010 Fucus apparently sprung its seals and let loose all the refrigerant over the winter, so I'm deciding if i want to give it a try. Won't have the benefit of a lift so it'll be more interesting.
Are the aftermarket compressors generally a reliable option? The OEM one went about 98k miles, I expected more out of it but maybe that's just how they're designed.
We have had good luck with the aftermarket AC compressors. You should be fine with a Four Seasons AC compressor.
Thanks for video😊

What type of oil does it take? how much more do you add in?
This is explained in the video. There also may be a sticker with the AC information on it when you open the hood.
@@HomeownerRepair I have a 2008 Focus. It takes PAG oil. Needs 4 ounces total. I got it from O'Reillys.
@@flexbuffchest21 Is the 4 ounces to be added to the oil already inside the new compressor?
@@vkpc1 some compressors come with oil. Mine did not
If u put a used compressor do i have to oil and flush out lines
You may want to make sure at a minimum it has the correct amount of compressor oil in it. We typically just buy a new or reconditioned compressor.
Thanks for the video guys

Good job
Thank you! I really appreciate your support!
Can the Focus AC compressor be changed DIY without a car lift? ( using only jack stands )
@@vkpc1 yes I did it on jack stands
You should be able to
So how do you know the compressor it bad. I have a Ford Fusion hybrid 2012 that won’t blow under 60 degrees, no codes or leaks. Properly charged. Shop says it’s the compressor but they never explained why?
A lot of times the clutch on the front of it will seize up or even fail and come apart. If you do this job yourself a licensed AC technical will need to properly drain down the system to let the Freon out and properly dispose of it.

What did this job cost?
For an aftermarket air conditioning compressor, labor and AC refill, you may be talking around $700 bucks depending on who you go to. The dealer may be more towards $1,000 bucks.
Damn😢. Looks like we won’t have AC this summer in Hot Ass East Coast
