    I made a bag after piecing some scraps together to make two outer pieces. It turned out perfect because your instructions were perfect. 👍🏾

      That's such a great idea. I followed this tutorial and made my bag this afternoon (hand stitched, no sewing machine) and I'm so pleased with the result. It was over too quickly but I shall take up your idea if making them for my local charity ❤

      @@marywhitford1360 It’s quite rewarding and I hope it helps. I fill the bags with toothbrush and paste, socks, chapstick, colored pencils and a sketch pad, or whatever I can get.

    I like this taturial very easy to understand. I suggest that the corners should be boxed it would look really nice

      I have several bag tutorials with boxed bottoms, so I wanted to keep it simple for this one.

    hi, thank you for the tutorial. i wondered if this is basically reversible?

    • @Whitney_Sews
      @Whitney_Sews  12 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @Leellka Yes, if you close the opening you turn through with a ladder stitch (tutorial on my channel). The stitch won't show and the bag is then reversible.

    Great video. How long should the cording be cut?

    • @Whitney_Sews
      @Whitney_Sews  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I don't have the measurements, usually thread it through the casing then cut to whatever length looks right.

      I’m thinking quilting cotton would work just fine. It’s 100% cotton.

    Would you say this is a reversable drawstring bag?

    • @Whitney_Sews
      @Whitney_Sews  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If you close the last seam nicely by hand then yes, it can be reversible.

  • @MR-iv6ve
    @MR-iv6ve ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi, if I wanted to size this up how would I work out the measurements of the casing bits? 🫣😬 I’m stuck please help!!

    • @Whitney_Sews
      @Whitney_Sews  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Cut the casings to the length you want the bag width to finish. Then when you sew the sides of the casing and flip it will end up a little shorter than the bag width. Hope that helps.

    • @MR-iv6ve
      @MR-iv6ve ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So I cut the casings to basically the size I want my bag to be when all finished- then the extra width on the bag will go on the seam?? Thank you so much!
