    Range tests completed on our Feb 2023 Skoda Enyaq iV 80 Sportline in the first week of June. Mode - 56mph (90kph), three adults and a heavy load with the rear 60% seats down and the load through the bay- aircon off, windows cracked open. 369 miles - topped off and then did the last 11 miles. same mode, but solo in the car no load - 430 miles (almost 700km). (book is 330/530)). Outside temps between 19 and 24C so no heating. I turned off regen except when coasting downhill so I get the least resistance off throttle. I was not using Eco mode on the car.

    Usually the RWD Model has 19" wheels unless this was the Gt-Line RWD which is a good comparison.
    Of course, in the US, in most states on the Interstate, the top speed is 70 (although some drive much faster) and with traffic congestion around cities your average speed works out to around 65 and as such you get amazing range in warm weather under near perfect conditions. Winter range is another story.
    My 2022 Gt-Line AWD in warm weather at 65 sees 3.8 to 4.2 miles per kWh. The EPA estimate claims 3.2 miles per kWh. So I'm very happy with the higher numbers at reasonable highway speeds.

    Wow that motorcyclist ripped by you like you were standing still at the beginning of the video. He must have been pushing 200kph. He wasn't going to get good fuel economy....
    I'm sorry did I miss the battery size? The results kind of make sense relatively regardless. Thanks Chris

    In ECO mode the AWD is essentially RWD as the front motor is disingaged, so cars virtually the same. The lower spec GT line or air RWD with 19' would be more efficient

    • @BatteryLife
      @BatteryLife  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I was driving the AWD with eco mode only using the rear Motor

      @@BatteryLife I mean other than the weight of the front motor the rwd and AWD are the same car in ECO, while the RWD with 19' wheels would have been more significant difference

      Driving faster than 65 mph is a total waste of energy increases power needed decreases range. Trip planning must include discipline as to speed/energy management. 2022 Hyundai Ioniq 5 RW SE at 65 mph in cruise control averages 3.6 miles per kw. I’ve seen videos of Ioniq owners getting just above or below 2.0 miles per. Why post about range to expect at high speed without posting 83 mph cruising speed? Many a Tesla owner complain of low range while driving at 85 mph +!!! Very dangerous.

    Would you choose Ioniq 6 over EV6 for better range figures? 🤔
    The 20" wheels probably don't help here.

    • @BatteryLife
      @BatteryLife  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Ioniq 6 is way better.

    In warm weather I'm getting 260 miles (418km) at 70mph (113kph )from the AWD with 20inch wheels. In colder weather it's about 230 (338km).

      Those wheels really sap the range

    Rather than Wh/mile most manufacturers use Miles per kWh in the UK as this is an easier calculation to work with.

    • @mikejupp6040
      @mikejupp6040 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Easy to work out. 1000÷Wh/mile = miles per kWh

    20 inches wheels kill range, losing about 25 km minimum, not easy for, but Kia should just provide 19' cars too.

    • @BatteryLife
      @BatteryLife  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      They always deliver the cars with the fancy big wheels, all car makers do that.
      It is more about looks

  • @gabormadak1221
    @gabormadak1221 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I was expecting way bigger difference. Wasn’t it because EV6 RWD turns off front wheel when in eco mode? If so that makes sense it was only 10% worse because of the extra motor weight.

      RWD means its only powering the rear wheels. The from wheels are already turned off in RWD lol unless i read that wrong
