Mark Riley hey man I’ve got a shaper in cornwall who has a mate in Sierra Leone teaching kids to Skate. I’d be pretty keen to send some stuff over. And see what we can gather
Awesome ep. The transference of knowledge is fundamental, that's a fact that's proved the test of time. And you guys made a difference in those wavey dudes lives. 🤙🏄♂️💙
This is like the perfect wave to practice! I wish I had one like that when I began surfing. Tricks on the small days and tube riding / fast take off on the bigger ones. Such a gem of a spot!
I really enjoyed this episode. Smiled the whole time. Love the energy and full send attitude of these kids. If Vans or someone else well known would like to organize a GoFundMe, I'd definitely chip in a few bucks to help get these kids some boards and wax to share.
reminded me of how sebastian inlet used to break back in the day. Sebastian only wishes it was this good now. Ask Jeff Crawford to watch this episode to see how the kids push each other positively and... share... not really how the wedge at the inlet was run back in the day haha. Great to see some culture and hear some traditional music. Cheers to all that made this happen. Really stoked to see this. Looked fun as heck.
Key to making surfing accessible in these developing countries is decent boards that they can afford. That means finding economical materials and tools and teaching them how to use them.
Beautiful, absolutely beautiful! I'm an old guy now that has surfed all around the world and I love seeing these young guys having their fun and the stoke that they have for surfing! It reminds me of myself as a kid back in the day.
This is super heartwarming and just makes me more excited for the rest of Weird Waves this season, I’ve only surfed once and don’t even live anywhere thats close to an ocean. Yet I’m just so intrigued with the personalities and locations that I keep watching. And have slowly fall in love with the sport along the way. I give it a “Very Cool/10”
I learnt to bodyboard here in the early 90s! There wasn’t really much surfing then but I do remember two Italians turning up who were really good and got a good crowd. Tarkwa doesn’t look much different, but the water looks less polluted and the city buildings in the background look much bigger. Nigeria has its problems but the locals just accept it and carry on. Great to see a good surf culture developing! Is the yacht club rotunda still there? So good to see this and great little doco mate!
I think ive watched this about 8 times now. What an awesome and inspiring place. Gets the stoke levels for upcoming Surf to all all time high! Best Episode by far 🤙
these groms rip!!! stoked as, big smiles, sharing waves and the love of surfing.this is hype..I wish I had enough$ to send them some gear or teach them to shape!!! Africa has so much talent that is slept.they have the waves and weather, a natural affinity for the sea and the physical attributes to be the best!!..I hope the boys left every spare bit of gear they could to nourish the gnar' in these frothing groms!!! epic episode..
Guy Ralls Samuel got my board. A white short board with a Vision Street Wear Sticker on it. I went to study in Europe in 1990 so I left my board with Samuel.
That's so awesome!! You know those kids are going to remember that for the rest of their lives!! Good job!! Can't wait to see the first Nigerian surfer!
Made me emotional when i saw how much the kids enjoying themselves. With what little they have out there havin fun. Reminded me when i was a fresh lil grom. Keep pushing the limits you groms.
Can definitely afford to give a couple boards (good boards) but posting them is a killer. If there was some kind of collective I think there would be massive support. I’m down if there could be something organised.
That wave is the perfect fun session experiencce. What a great local vibe. With a small influx of quality equipment those kids an that community will flourish. I hope some company or organization see's the potential and donates some time an money into the growth of a new surfing culture
I was so stoked watching this episode. Hooting like it was 72' at the Santa Monica Civic. Thank you for enlarging our community! Best episode yet. Regards.
Awesome. These groms do need some boards sent to them. Good vibes. That said at 51 and a surfer since 1985, the colonist in me makes me glad that ill be dead before it is a world without empty lineups.
Nope, but I imagine it’s some Dylan graves comp, credits say it’s in-house, not sure if yves compositions did it, but dig deeper, the truth is out there
Those kids are stoked on surfing & I hope their not flunking school? Dylan, whatever country you go to, you inspire surfers to do better even those kids! Mahalo & aloha for this video!
Man , that looks super fun and everyone is so surf stoked and good vibes all around. Ghana has some fun waves too. West Africa is usually very friendly.
Wow that was a really awesome video. I wish I was a millionaire I would love to go there and surf with them and get each one of them a proper board. The talent is amazing. The joy and smiles they have is infectious. Much love Nigeria from Florida.
This series is soooooo good god damn! Also that wedge is sick, what I wouldn't give to have that in the backyard. Keep it up man, the definition of weird waves is wide and wonderful and is more than just river/icefall waves, exploring little surf scenes around specific waves or even checking out little-surfed ocean slabs will give you plenty of material! Great work
Dear Vans,
Can we please send these kids some boards? These groms deserve some nice equipment!
if you want to send a board let me know I go there every month. I have for the last 8yrs
Mark Riley hey man I’ve got a shaper in cornwall who has a mate in Sierra Leone teaching kids to Skate. I’d be pretty keen to send some stuff over. And see what we can gather

Bug off kook

Rad! I hope you guys left some boards for those kids!
Leave boards there sure, but ask a little something in return, that's how the skate-aid projects do it and it works so good...just a tip
@@juan4realz942 haha I don't know what thoughts yoy are having but usually money is a bit easier
I really hope Vans left boards
Cause it will be quite disappointing if they didnt
One of the best episode.
yes exactly
Awesome ep. The transference of knowledge is fundamental, that's a fact that's proved the test of time. And you guys made a difference in those wavey dudes lives. 🤙🏄♂️💙
Thank you for showing our country!
This episode just took this series to a whole 'nother level
This is like the perfect wave to practice! I wish I had one like that when I began surfing. Tricks on the small days and tube riding / fast take off on the bigger ones. Such a gem of a spot!
I love this serie so much

Give these kids everything they need for the sport. Surfing lives there.

This was rad but I wish you had left them your boards! Hopefully they can get hooked up with some proper gear to continue shredding on
This is what surfing is all about! Sharing and having fun! Best episode so far.
Key to making surfing accessible in these developing countries is decent boards that they can afford. That means finding economical materials and tools and teaching them how to use them.
What a great video! Hope that we see some of these guys in the Olympics at least some day!!
That was absolutely amazing. What a down to earth and generous way of looking at surfing all over the globe.
Well done everyone involved and MORE PLS
Impossible not to smile. Happiness at its purest. Keep surfing to the top little legends! Let’s get heaps of new gear sent to them.
I’m just impressed how high Dane could get his elbow on that wall!
Beautiful, absolutely beautiful! I'm an old guy now that has surfed all around the world and I love seeing these young guys having their fun and the stoke that they have for surfing! It reminds me of myself as a kid back in the day.
The DUKE is smiling down upon ALL of you! Thanks for sharing this sport of surfing with the WORLDWIDE! Aloha from Hawaii
4:50 Dane's backhand hacks gotta be the best manoeuvre in surfing. So sharp and powerful

globalartwork rotunda is still there. Was back last year. Not much changed apart from the surfing skill levels.
That was one of my favorite ones so far!! Great episode

Whoa that was amazing! Love the stoke and hospitality out there. Don’t get much of that in Cali actually the exact opposite...
Best episode. That wave looks like something out of my dreams
I live here, and all of these groms are the nicest most down to earth groms. One of the best waves in the world.
So inspiring !
This is the true spirit of surfing 🤙
I hope they keep it this way in the future.
Is there any way we could send boards to them ?
Great to see kids surfing and having fun, even if it's at the infancy stage .... it can only get better !!! 👌🤙
I learnt to surf at this spot and at Lighthouse Beach around the corner. Hello Samuel, u didn't surf but u were the man at Tarkwa back in 92 :D
Guy Ralls Samuel got my board. A white short board with a Vision Street Wear Sticker on it. I went to study in Europe in 1990 so I left my board with Samuel.
Sooooo goooooooooddd - ..so sad when the episode ends...just want it to never stop..m
As a London born Nigerian surfer - love this and can’t wait to visit there on my next trip!! Thank you 🤙🏾

Pure Surfing right here! Love it!!!
What a difference some old boards from the pro's would do.. Great to see everyone excited for each other and the smiles.
This is why i love Vans, only one brand how show something more than wsl stuff ...
I got a warm fuzzy in my heart watching this. True ambassadorship.
A world class wave to say the least, breaks with a beautiful bowling slab from waist high to overhead!
Favorite episode so far. Love this series! That last song is so good too.
Someone has to hook these kids up with a sponsorship asap!!
When the swell bumped up that looks like the funnest bank wave around
Endless Summer 2020. So Epic!!!!
These kids are truly living the dream. They have their own version of 1st peak Sebastian Inlet. Spread the surf!
The best....everything surfing in 15 minutes of video.
Awesome ep. The kid making it at 12.34...brilliant!

One of the best surf content. All about pure joy of catching waves. Hats off to Dylan, Dane, and Vans Surf!
Awesome. These groms do need some boards sent to them. Good vibes. That said at 51 and a surfer since 1985, the colonist in me makes me glad that ill be dead before it is a world without empty lineups.
I don't surf (snowboard a bit), but this series is hypnotic. Such a perfect tone. And, this episode, in particular, was great.
Epic! Love the very mark mothersbaugh-y, zissouesque soundtrack!
what's the name of the last song, do you know? :)
Nope, but I imagine it’s some Dylan graves comp, credits say it’s in-house, not sure if yves compositions did it, but dig deeper, the truth is out there

This episode was so sick! Had a grin on my face the whole time watching these kids get stoked 👏

I thought the same thing! WAAAAYY better than mine and I have been surfing for quite sometime! LOL
Awesome! Long live the stoke! And i love how diverse the names in Nigeria are, dude is legit named Monday.

Dude! Is Mauritania surfable? The White Cape? What about surfing the sand rivers? I love this serie!!!!!!!!!!!!
One of the best Weird Waves ever, and I don’t say that lightly. Good on ya! 🤙🏼
Favourite weird waves episode by far great story telling
My favorite surfing video so far I've seen on youtube!
Epic!! This is one of my favorite episodes and what a punchy little wave man I wouldn’t be able to get out the water lol.
It was so nice to see that there are still places where people like so share waves and spread the stoke!!
What a wave! It’s gonna make some of those kids stars for sure.

Surfing and it's Global Tribes. Great Content, Keep posting.
How epic was that? Smiling the whole way. The froth is real!!!
Usually when I read comments about surfing there is always someone speaking negative. Not this time! You guys hit a home run on this episode!
Such great vibes, thank you!!!! I was hoping there was a link on how to donate boards to help surfing grow there. Vans?
I’ve watch these videos at least once a year
That was some cool stuff, their stoke had me stoking too.
Shoulda left em a couple boards to add to their quiver.
This is the best episode of this series i've seen so far. Love those groms froth.
Man, you guys gave me my faith in humanity back.
This was so sick-- what a stoke! And what a fun little wave. Respect from Rincon, PR.
best episode so far , loving the vibe

Thanks for sharing. Love this series. You should do a collaboration with Ben Gravy
