I actually dropped one piece for a while when I found out ace dies because I was in the middle of the alabasta arc when he was first introduced and I already liked him so I didn’t want to get attached to him but it was too late and since I couldn’t live with myself I went back after maybe a month or two😅

yeah same here, like I kept watching I didn't even find out until the fight with blackbeard. Then I got curious and literally the first thing that pops up in the search bar is ace dies. I was like, no way clickbait. then luffy frees him and I'm so excited, Ik it was clickbait then ace actually dies then I cried. Shit bothers me til this day, I don't like the way he died or the fact that he died before we saw him accomplish more.
We was robbed of such a interesting character and he died in a very sad way. Which increase their value to us, a beautiful death isn't a bad thing but this ain't beautiful this is too early and he has a giant hole in his chest😢 😪
One piece is such a long anime and if ace was still here I would watch that it just to get to the episodes where I can see ace. But now my favorite character was cut short I don't feel I got that must investment or reason to look forward to what happens next. We get some flash backs here and there but they're so short and it's just not the same. Zoro is a badass though but there's nothing I really look forward to with his development and sabo is cool, but he ain't ace.
