Love it!! I own 6 of these FFSPs I have a way of getting them in Canada through a Shipping Company at under 400 snow pesos it's still worth it for me that's after paying duty and the company fees, I pick up my Blueberry burst explorer on Wednesday I'm pumped
I looked in the description for a link to buy the guitar and there isn't one. So that proves you aren't here to make money on links or by dishonestly pumping up gear for pay. You bought it for yourself and are sharing your honest review for the community. So there is obviously no BS here to make money. I've been watching your videos for a couple of years and man you just went up about 10 notches in my book! Love your videos brother!
@@chrisa1125 Thank you. I have decided not to review guitars on manufacturers terms. I prefer to buy myself and not feel obligated. I figure if people want a link they can search it up. . Thank you very much for watching and noticing. 🙏
I play this song also on my Chibson BC Rich Stealth. It is pretty damn good. I put an EMG 81 in the one position and it kills. Not many people making lefty guitars. I have a Firefly Blueberry SG and I love it. I put EMG 57/66 set in it and it slays. Get major Black Sabbath tone out of it. Good fin there. I wish Firefly would make more lefties; their site has not had many as of the last few years.
I have been playing guitar, acoustic and electric, since 1964. I own 47 guitars I just bought a Firefly Les Paul model to see what all the hoopla was all about. I paid $250 plus shipping and state tax. It arrived very well packaged -- The best packaging I've ever seen. The tuners seem descent. We'll see. The pots and caps are cheap junk and I imagine the 3-way switch and output jack are too. That's OK. The pickups work but are a bit microphonic . . . that's all I can say about them at this time. However there is no grounding and unless I touch the pickups, they create a horrible hum in the amp. Obviously the pickups are not grounded and there is no shielding in the cavities. The frets are small and don't look look to me to be Medium Jumbo - I haven't check them out with a fret rocker, or checked the neck yet. The strings seem OK, but I don't know what brand. The fit and finish, binding, body, neck, headstock, knobs, etc. are absolutely beautiful. So, after I rewire it, including new pickups and set up the action, I think I'm good to go. But it will NEVER come close to my two Heritage H-150 Custom Shop Les Pauls. It is more on par with my Epiphones Les Pauls, which I love. But don't think you are going to play this at a rock concert right out of the box, unless you have no choice. Rock on!
Great video and great recording! It blew my mind how good it sounded! After this I need to get a hold of a FF even though it’s hard here in the EU. Again, great video, rock on brother!
@TheworldofMattias Thanks brother. I've always had a hard time contacting FF. I've never gotten one email back from them when I've asked questions, unfortunately. Let me know if you get better results.
Thanks so much for the review and great job on the song! Unfortunately, I’ve been trying to get a Firefly guitar for a couple years but never find the ones reviewed by different TH-camrs available. Can’t find this particular model and color anywhere on the Guitar Gardens website. Do they just sell out that fast? Thanks again!
Scored one of the Firefly "EVH" a month or so ago. Roasted flamed maple neck, stainless frets, compound radius, branded Floyd Rose. Needed NOTHING out of the box and the neck is so good I haven't picked up any of my other guitars since getting it. $260.
Similar experience… My FFMN (The EVH Ernie Ball inspired version) arrived today and I was absolutely blown away by the frets and playability. The action is super low and zero fret buzz. The only complaint is how my fingers were black after playing for a few minutes and the frets are definitely scratchy and will need to be polished. But I had planed to clean the neck and put my own strings on anyway, but for 239.00 I couldn’t go wrong. It seriously plays as comfortable at my Charvel San Dimas at a quarter of the price.
I have two Firefly guitars. An antique white double neck (which is WAY cheaper now than when I got mine) and a FFLX Explorer style. Bat blue with bat inlays. The double neck is very good, but not excellent. The Explorer style is excellent. Great video and rendition of the AIC song. I hadn't heard that one.
Excellent it's time to take a break from chibsons, and get back to my favorite firefly's I'm either getting the walnut or the cobra burst, have a cherry burst that looks like your honey burst already,so it's time for another elite, I'm a big fan of custom LPs with their first fret marker and binding on the headstock, man your a wicked player brother, keep up the good work, thanks for sharing.
I have Two Firefly’s The Mad Cat and the Sunburst Strat Absolutely beautiful guitars They both needed a setup. I like low action But that’s not a problem at all
Great review😊,Thanks for that. Seems like very interesting guitar for the money. I would have hoped to see the control cavity as well, but anyway great sounding guitar🤟. Are you familiar with JET Guitars? They make teles, strat and superstrats on very cheap prices starting from around 200 dollars😊. I just bought Jt-300 blond tele 200dollars And it’s amazing guitar, great pickups, nice tuners, rounded neck edges with roasted maple neck and great setup . I have MIM fender tele and that can’t beat my new cheap Jt-300😂 not even close. You really can find much better guitars for much less money than these ”known brand names”
I have 6 FireFly guitars (2 strat style, 2 LP's 1 SG style and 1 ES-335 style) and am still amazed at the quality of these guitars. I have a $2500.00 Gibson Les Paul a 3000.00 American made strat (and many, many made in mexico and japan strats) and these strat's (except for the necks) and LP's are equal in quality and sound and in some cases the FireFly's are a much better. I just wish the FireFly company would put out some strats with soft V necks, medium C or anything thicker than a slim C. I would definitely buy them. Hope, Hope, Hope. Just my 2 cents worth. Peace.
Great playing and a beautiful guitar. Personally I have found the stock pickups in all my fly's to sound a bit too "middy". Too much mid makes them sound hollow. Beyond that ,I have liked all of them. How are the pickups on that one? Thanks.
@zanshelby03 Thank you. I have found the exact same thing in my Fireflys of the past. These pickups, however, are definitely another animal. They are very well-rounded and articulate. It is not mahogany. I really wish these companies would stop quietly passing off Okoume wood (which I assume this is) as mahogany and some buyers think it is. We are living in the Golden Age of budget guitars. You should get one before the Trump tariffs make them double in price.
If that even happens, it might add a buck or two, but certainly not "doublle" in price (did you mean to double the l as a joke? Good play if you did).
