Silence of the Lambs style art there on Sleepless - Graham Masterton. I need to read Island by Richard Laymon. Laymon was so pervy 🤣. I read The Rats around 1991, it's a nook I haven't forgotten, sure, I don't remember every page, but I remember all the intense gory stuff, and the alarm bell driving The Little Furry Bastards Crazy LOL! Great update 👍
Thank you so much! I last read The Rats in the 80s. My re-read made me realise that it was more then the blood, guts and gore. So much social commentary and political criticism in the novel. The nasty stuff wins though, in my opinion! 😀
I will be rereading The Dunwhich Horror on Christmas Day. I need to reread some Laymon. I have read a dozen or so of his novels. The Rats is indeed a great book.
Great video Cliff, you should do weekly videos reading Laymonisms, it was brilliant. Thanks for taking part in The Rats readalong. I too took a lot more from the book this time around, brilliant novel, I gave it 5* as well.
Thanks for the compliment John! His constant references to female body body parts does get tiring and repetitive. The Rats was a awesome read, would love to get my hands on the sequels.
I think I may have read a John Laymon book in the past. Not positive. At this stage in life, I don't think the book you described is for me. I know I read part of The Rats and liked it. Don't know why I never finished it. Thanks for mentioning reasons why people might not want to read certain books.
Some intriguing titles here. Thanks for sharing them.
Thank you so much for watching and commenting!
The cover of Through the Ravenous Night We Ride is fantastic!
Thanks Jen! It is definitely one of my favorite covers.
I've had The Rats on my bookshelf for years. Time to get it out and read it. 👍
I think you will enjoy the book Reggie. A horror classic. 👍
I read the rats last year and didn't realize it was commentary of the times. That makes me appreciate it more. Love the rats in hats on your thumbnail
Hey Kritz, The Rats really blew me away second time around. Thanks, we thought rats in Christmas hats would look cool. 😂
I definitely need to do another read of The Rats. It has been decades since my first read. I didn't even know it was a series. 😮
Hey Leslie, The Rats was awesome but oh so brutal. I definitely want to pick up the sequels now.
Lookin' sharp, Boet (dig the haircut, t-shirt)! Best wishes for the silly season.
Thank you so much Brent! 😀Wishing you a happy festive season too!

Enjoy Greg! I might re-read one of my favorites towards the end of the month. Laymon is definitely an acquired taste. The Rats was a great re-read.

I always feel dirty after reading Laymon. Well except Savage. That one was actually good. I really liked The Rats.
This book made me feel particularly filthy Mindy! I am kinda ashamed that I enjoyed it so much. 😂

Absolute Pleasure, it is always better to go into a book prepared, always check for trigger warnings if you are unsure.
