Mega Man 2 was made as an "indie project" in the developers spare time. Capcom was not initially interested in a sequel, but the developers felt they could do better than the original Mega Man. So they had to work on it in their off hours. It was a true labour of love. And even 34 years later, it shows.

When I heard green hill zone, it sounded SO amazing, I didn't think anything could beat it. "How can you get better than that?!?! No way. I LOVE IT! The videos are beautiful. I know you want to show the coils off but it would look super sweet to pull that regular light down a little bit and shine some colored led spots on the silver of the coils, RGB - would be sweet. Introduce some addressable LEDs also in line with the audio - omg.
my favorite thing about musical coils is what they're called. They have two names. The Zeusaphone and the Thoramin. I like Thoramin more cause it's also a nod to the Theremin, one of, if not _the,_ first electric musical instruments.

Last comments' gave me the answer ^^ Just one question : I've been trying to gather informations to try to build a musical tesla coil myself, and I've been wondering about a coil's capacity to play a polyphonial song. It seems, from the video, that it is possible (as there are much more than 2 tracks playing together, and only 2 coils), but not from some websites I've seen. By purest hazard, are you able to give me more explanations ?
...as far as I know, he’s using the Teslas for the music. He looks like he knows what he’s doing, and I expect it’s something like isolating the specific voltage for a specific sound, and hooking it up to some form of musical program, requiring lots of trial and error. Of corse, though, what do I know? I’m just a guy on the internet who hasn’t fact-checked their own stuff.
The Tesla coils switch on and off at the frequencies of the notes, producing the music. If the coils can alternate back and forth quickly between multiple frequencies, it can sound like a chord. It’s similar to persistence of vision. For example, if the coil is programmed to play an A (440 Hz) for a small fraction of a second and then play a C (523 Hz) for the same small period of time over and over again, it will sound like an A minor chord.

8-bits and 16-bits songs fit damn well on tesla coils, it sounds really good
It's amazing how so many fit perfectly or at least partially.
A lot of those are made with square and sawtooth waves, which are super easy to do with a tesla coil, hence the reason they sound so good.
It's because of the simplicity of the songs.
